This power that woman holds in her bodyā¦
To create life, from her substanceā¦her flesh & her bloodā¦
To commune with the realmsā¦
To see, intuitivelyā¦
Is a great threat
For the law & order
Of the linear mind
She produces chaosā
In periodsā
Because from chaosā
She can create somethingā
Altogether newā¦
And when she circles with other women when the moon is dark, she makes a lot of noise indeedā
Blood & menstruation to the ancients, was a break in status quo order, & was seen to be the making of noiseā
The women coming together in circle around the communal hut in noisy ritualā
The ritual of heightened awareness
Of feelings being surfaced
in bodily movement & songā
What wildness, this chaos-making is?
From which the women come back, producing order from their communal noise
She brings back knowledge & culture from the blood altered stateā
For man this became a growing insult, to be seen with eyes that are wise & knowingā How painfulā¦
And if she chooses her partner for the full moon, at ovulation, surely some men will have more than others?
Wounds fester & grow, until resentment & anger becomes violence & force to getā¦
To tame, to domesticate, to subdue the intuitive wildness, to control, dominate
To claim the power
Patriarchal law originates in a primary wound, call it anxiety, & patriarchal law perpetuates anxiety
Because he has to learn the truth of the power he wantsā
The power is his consciousness
The power is his heart
His seeingā
The acceptance that he as child of Mother Consciousness
Has never been left out
And is always, already, fully seen
