Good on you for doing that. I had multiple friends, who had just turned 18 say to me oh I'm voting for "clive palmer because his ads are funny" or "I'm voting for liberal, because kevin is psycho" (I live in the safest labor seat in NSW) so it's obvious that most new voters don't understand the policies or bother to research them, they just go off the masses.
Yeah, and that drives me insane! Look at Clive - when he first started PUP, I never ever thought he'd actually end up in parliament. Now, thanks to donkey voters and people voting for the "funny fat man", he's in power - and for all the laughs he's given us, the man is dangerous.
People are very unwilling to learn, but I try my best to make things interesting and if that leads them to make an informed vote, I couldn't be happier!
