Rant: I got an anonymous review recently which made me happy because I always appreciate reviews, but idk if the reviewer genuinely liked/is interested in my story or if she was low-key bashing my writing..???? 

I know some characters I wrote about are frustrating/annoying/unlikeable but I didn’t write them like that without reason. I would like to reiterate that I wrote this story based off real life and that it was not my intention for people to hate these characters. Tenten was just looking out for Sasuke and although what she was pushing him to do was not ideal, she was doing it because she thought that  would be best for him. She just wanted her friends to be happy. Although, as readers, we don’t agree with what she did, her motives were not bad.... she just went about it the wrong way. Sasuke is not perfect. I didn’t write any of my characters to be perfect. He didn’t get the girl because he was scared and there are people out there who do not have the courage to fight for what they want because of the uncertainty of the result. Sasuke, although he liked Sakura a lot, could not change who he was for her. He was not the type to talk to someone he didn’t know. Although he had feelings for her, he couldn’t push himself forward to make the first step because that is not who he is. And Karin just liked Sasuke. She didn’t know about Tenten’s ultimatum, she didn’t know about Sasuke struggling with his feelings for Sakura, she was not in the loop. I would like to repeat that I do not ship Sasuke /// Karin.

Of course I can see why the Out of Sync series is frustrating to read. We are rooting for our ship to happen... but it didn’t happen for me in real life and that is why I wrote it that way. Again, I did not write the characters as frustrating for no reason and I apologize if it came off that way. That is why I have put a warning in my first story so that readers know that it does not have a happy ending so that I don’t mislead them.

Although I am open to critiques, there’s a certain way to go about it in a respectful manner. For example, you do not have to bash a character to voice your discontent towards them. I am fine with reading why you didn’t like a character for certain reasons but I don’t see the need for name calling. Again, your opinion is valid, but name calling makes the review hard for me to accept as genuine. So I’m confused as I’m not sure if the guest reviewer liked my story because of all the name calling of certain characters. But it cannot be helped...

Again, as a writer, I am open to suggestions and recommendations because I know some of them can really help improve the story. However, as a writer, I am also able to not take those suggestions and recommendations. I am thankful for the suggestions of this guest reviewer but I will have to politely decline them. First and foremost, I wrote Out of Sync to help me move on. Sorry to Interrupt is for my reviewers but it is not a story that will go according to whatever my readers want. Sorry to Interrupt is also based off of real life events. So if I lose readers because they do not like where I am headed with my story, then I accept that. I will not force anyone to read something that they do not like. However, just because I do not take your suggestions does not mean I do not consider them. Again, I am thankful to those that took the time to review what I can do to improve the story, but at the end of the day, I am the writer and it is my decision.

I know no one will read this but to any of my readers who do, I appreciate all your reviews. Even if I do not like some of them, I will feel forever grateful you took the time to write me one. Just know that I will always stand by my writing and I hope you can respect that.
