Michael Rubenstein writes on the 50th anniversary of âChinatownâ and the beginning of the end of petromodernity.
Coma, the movie.
It is...mostly visuals.
Ever watch a movie and go âthey are trying to wow me with visuals cuz the storyline is boring, predictable, and trashâ?
That is coma.
And I will admit, it is either CLEARLY foreign or the WORST DUBBING of all time, so I may be biased.
But itâs not cuz it is foreign.
Parasite is one of the most original movies I ever saw. I am TERRIFIED it will be a long time before I see such an original movie that surprises me.
Coma was âsuper hero movie, meets semi thriller, with a SMALL twist.â
Summed up?
Guy goes into coma, in this world told heâs the next god, previous god gets pissed, REAL god shows his true colors.
VERY basic.
I knew it was foreign not only due to the dubs, but the visuals. Bare minimum.
Now I will give it to the actors AND voice actors-they were PHENOMENAL. I only kept watching cuz I thought ALL of them were very talented.
Itâs just...EVERYTHING surrounding them was so...mediocre, predictable, and not worth your time.
I have a list of movies I will watch when I am fucked up cuz I know I wonât remember, cuz I wonât care.
This was on it. This made it.
Fav part?
When it was done.
5.7/10, and thatâs just cuz they tried something different, not original.
seriously, warcraft the movie was only 3 steps above this. THREE!
This freaking nerd.
