3. Have you read any of the books related to the series?

I own both ‘Generation Kill’ and ‘One Bullet Away’ and have read several chapters of both but haven’t finished either. This has everything to do with my ADHD and nothing to do with the quality of the books or my enjoyment of them. They were both excellent, I just haven’t sat down again to finish them.

18. A Generation Kill scene that made you laugh.

There are so many weird scenes that make me laugh, but the one that jumps out is: Ray Poggers Face, shouting, “JUgGs!” And Brad’s high pitched whining in response. There’s also the kind of throwaway line I thought of in Ep 1 that’s like “You know that makes you a communist, right?” “THE FUCK I AM!”

Hi!! Thanks for the ask! This is a bit from my ‘the-breakup-happens-post-OIF au’ in which Ray is crazy in love with Brad and Brad is so fucking stupid.

A pair of boots crunches against the loose dirt swept along the outside of the factory—and Ray groans, hiccups in his crying, because it hurts to realize he can recognize him by just the falling of his feet. Hiding his red and swollen eyes in the crook of his elbow, Ray mumbles, “Go away.” As if pushing at Brad isn’t just like poking at a bruise.

Thank you! Here’s a long bit in which Andy (the poor soul) doesn’t know the word ‘dissociation.’

There’s a hole maybe the size of a quarter ripped in the screen door. Andy watches as two little fingers wiggle through it, the small hand they’re attached to curling up close behind them. Looking Andy up-and-down, the boy behind the door seems to really consider him a while: scuffed brown shoes, slacks, short-sleeve button-up, jacket and hat in-hand. With his haste, Andy can hardly remember his trek to the house, but this moment here, looking for an answer to his question, is like a deep gorge, like time is plummeting past him, on and on while he waits.

This happens now and then, the time. It’s different now. There are moments when the journey from peak-to-peak, between one instant and the next, stretches out forever, like Andy must climb down into the valley between and back up again. Then there are other times when the moments won’t wait, can’t wait, for Andy’s slow mind to catch up. One passing and then another without regard to Andy’s muddied thoughts or the tracks he digs for himself while trying to understand some word or another. Nothing comes to him like it once did. Once, when he was someone else.

oooh hmm, i'm not Super picky about the thing itself as long as it has something to do with my interests / shows the person put thought into it ?? i like vinyl records and books and hoodies and blankets and stuffed animals and jewelry and all sorts of gift mediums! and even then, i also appreciate gift cards / cash / etc. type gifts because then i have freedom to pick something directly... i dunno! i'm not very good at directly asking for what i want because of how i grew up but i find that most of the time i'm never disappointed by any gift i receive!
