A piece created for a neuroradiologist

I recently completed this embroidery piece, called ‘Four Seasons’, depicting 4 sets of lungs, each paralleling the four seasons. The whole piece took over 45 hours to finish. I’m a full-time medical student so as much as I would love to spend every day creating pieces, I’m limited in the time I get to spend on embroidery. But one way of sharing my work with more people without having to recreate it for everyone, is through art prints. 

After much trial and error, I was finally able to capture it well in photos and created postcards and square art prints of it.

the latest of my science embroideries, a collection inspired by bacterial cultures grown on Petri dishes in the lab. Vibrant, textured and full of character, these pieces express the unpredictability of cultures, and are made using paint, thread and beading. Available on etsy!
