Welcome to Modular Plural Culture Is
This blog is part of a community outreach effort by a newly discovered, strangely lonely feeling modular subsystem, in a system (mainly of full people) that has some other modularesque 'clouds' outside of that.
rules are simple: no hate, no community gatekeeping. & all asks/ submissions must relate in some way to being a modular plural. (do note that due to a LOT of similarities, "ad hoc plural" asks and other modular-adjacent experiences are also accepted)
pro endo. deal with it or leave. if youre anti endo just dont make it anybody's problem. dont bring it up in your asks. there's not a strict "antiendos DNI" for this blog because this experience isnt talked about enough as is. lets just all get along and try to help each other.
not keeping a list of anon tags so do whatever.
what is modular plurality?
while this description will mostly use clinical language, this is only so people understand the original concepts from which the identity has evolved. anybody identifying with this concept on some level is welcome.
First described by Richard Kluft in the days when it was called MPD, modular plurality is a state of being where the ego-states are individually so fragmented that they may embody only one or two traits. in clinical terms: if an alter is a glass pane and a fragment is a shard of glass, a fractal in a modular system is closer to a grain of sand.
rather than any one 'particle' fronting alone, they coalesce temporarily into an identity (literature says: usually for a week or so) to meet the demands of a situation, before the particles fall apart again & another new identity forms. Kluft noted that modular plurals have a correlation (not causation) with heightened creativity and computer literacy.
Kluft also describes what he called an 'ad hoc' presentation of DID, wherein a modular-esque plural's breakings and reforms are done by a 'helper alter', and certain fragments are essentially never seen again. it is described as presenting with 'evidence of DID and fugue states, but unable to find an alter to account for the lost time'.
by its very nature, modular and ad hoc plurality are considered to be at the very least adjacent to polyfragmentation, quite possibly being subtypes of it. they are also considered to be on the median spectrum.
for further information, we recommend pluralpedia over medical resources. while the original concept is very helpful as medical building blocks for describing certain plural experiences, do note before looking further into it that Kluft has been in multiple malpractice lawsuits. proceed into deeper readings of clinical information on this with extreme caution.
