Red-Haired Mage

Carishrael & Athemeus Combo Carrie & Theo are quite possibly my favorite pair of original characters ever (due in no small part to my GM's FANTASTIC portrayal of Theo during Carrie's story arc. He was amazing). So when I found my preferred figures for both of them in the Bones box, I had to paint them. Better yet, I realized I could position them together and make it look like he had his arm around her - casting together for the win! (I kind of wish they had their respective staves, but oh well). The Theo figure originally had a fussy-looking backpack and a dagger in his right hand, but an Xacto knife removed those in fairly short order. Things I like about this figure combo: Theo's armor. It's basically Vallejo brown wash over a very light acrylic base coat, and it gave me a very leather-like texture that I was EXTREMELY happy with. I was also quite pleased by the level of detail I managed with his armor and assorted vials. Things I wish we're better: Lumpy faces. The casting in polymer wasn't great, so I could only do so much with my Xacto knife. Theo's nose is kinda flat. Also, I probably could've done a better job painting his beard. Still, I love how this combination turned out.
