My second single, ‘Modersohnbrücke’, taken from my forthcoming new album ‘The Trees Are Dancing’, is out now! Modersohnbrücke itself is a bridge near where I live in Berlin. The bridge crosses the train lines for the S Bahn and R lines and faces East on one side (where you can see huge factories billowing smoke, and Ostkreuz station) and West on the other. The bridge is well known in my neighbourhood as in the summer months it provides incredible views of sunsets and hosts locals sat out drinking and eating until the early hours. Modersohnbrücke was the last track I made for this record and on writing days and weekends I’d come here early in the morning, drinking coffee (Silo) and sit facing West watching the more ‘developed’ areas of city waking up and the transport systems springing into life. I would listen back to mixes I’d made the night before, writing notes down on structure and new ideas in my notebook, buzzing my nut off. The bridge probably looks like a disaster scene to some people, but to me (and I guess lots of people who live in Berlin) the bleak, the abandoned and the ‘under-construction’ aesthetic is one which I’ve always loved. Something that is full of potential, and potential is infinite.
The Trees Are Dancing is released as a super limited gold cassette and via bandcamp as instant digital download on the 24th of March 2017.Â
