British monarchy doesnāt really need modernizing. When it comes to family matters, theyāre fairly modern - 70 years ago Queen have got her way and despite her family wishes married a foreigner, Charles will be the first divorced and remarried king, over 40 years ago Anne rejected a title for her children and her first husband declined a royal title, Kate will be the first British Consort without any royal ancestors. A century ago all of these things wouldāve never happen. Heck, some people had problem because Queen Mother was only a Lady. During that time, Fergie, Sophie, Kate and Meghan wouldāve never become royals, even Diana would have a problem to get publicās approval! These are the sorts of ābreaking rulesā that matter. Not a coat of arms of some D-list actress who married into the family, not her cake flavor (as a matter of a fact, Eugenieās cake was red velvet, havenāt seen anyone saying sheās breaking rules) or whatever else she does.

Thank you for your submission.
Completely agree.
The only plus side of this match is that there is a biracial princess. Thatās good modernising.
A pity that sheās also brought the Hollywood lifestyle - PR, exorbitant spending/merching and posing. Not what you think of when you think good modernising.
