I seriously wanna know how Reddit can genuinely claim they saw no significant drop in revenue during the blackout. There was a period of MULTIPLE HOURS where the Home Page didn't even know how to function without the top subreddits active, and it just showed a blank error page. You're telling me that Reddit somehow made the exact same amount of money showing zero ads and content for HOURS as it did while functioning normally? Absolute horseshit. That CEO is lying through his teeth, and I hope when they take Reddit public it highlights every financial fault in such boldness that it kills the platform entirely.

I’d say, I hope these recent issues with Twitter and Reddit have made people weary of trusting countless amounts of data, information, and images in the hands of private, for-profit sites, but I know it hasn’t.

I hope if Reddit really introduces the new feature that will allow communities to vote out moderators, it immediately gets used to vote out the mods appointment specifically to reopen the subreddits, and further gets used to vote out any mods that don't support the protests.

If Reddit hadn’t seen significant revenue drops, SPEZ wouldn’t be ready to force moderators out of communities. If they were making the same amount of money, he’d be enjoying it while functioning on a fraction of the server load and operational costs. But they’re not. They’re not making the same amount of money. The protests were way larger than he expected, they’re way more affective than he expected, and they’re lasting way longer than he expected. Now he’s using Musk-like temper tantrums as a last resort.

I sincerely invite Christian Selig to replace Apollo for Reddit with a Tumblr app. Tumblr might not have the numbers that Reddit does, but it sure has the avid hatred for the first-party app that could help bridge the financial gap.
