New Jersey native, Mai Nguyen is not only an expert at thrifting unique and affordable fashion items but also at piecing together the trendiest outfits. Is she manages to get a break between studying for her major in Marketing at Rutgers University, interning at DePalma PR and YAYA Publicity, performing with her hip-hop dance team, dabbling in photography or baking – you'll find her blogging.  For a little over a year now she has been documenting her fashion ingenuity in her successful blog www.littlemaisunshine.com. Modabound sits down with Mai to uncover her inspirations, love for fashion and her favorite places in the city.

Columbia College junior, Chelsa Thompson is a social media maven. In fact, she is currently on the social media committee for the NAACP. Originally from California, Chelsa has made NYC her new home. We at Modabound love her retro, mod style. Read our short interview with Chelsa where she tells us her personal obsessions and favorite NYC nightlife spot.

  1)    If you had to choose one…what clothing article or fashion item would you always keep?

If I had to choose one fashion item to keep I would choose my cat eye glasses for practical reasons --I'm absurdly blind-- and they are so sixties. I dig the retro vibe.

2)     What are some of your favorite websites, magazines, or books? 4) If you could hang out with anyone, who would it be?

My favorite quote, “Es Muss Sein"(It must be), comes from The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I wouldn't exactly say I have a favorite book though. I am obsessed with all aspects of social media. My favorite apps are Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

3)     Any favorite hangout spots in NYC?

I love to club. My favorite spot right now is SL. I fell in love with the decor as soon as I walked in and have been sold ever since.

4)     If you could hang out with anyone, who would it be?

My dad is my favorite person in the world. If I had the option to hang out with anyone in the world it would be him. He's the best.
