Personality:

He is really driven home to be the Perfect Captain type. His topics are all related to health, his items are all related to strategy, and regardless of his his SEED status, Kidou reinstates him captain status when he comes back which shows how deserving he is of the title. Like his game description says he comes off as scary mostly by his stance and appearance yet he is never violent or rowdy.He is also from a strict and very proper school that exercises its students ability to be skilled in many facets of their schooling career which would imply that he is a studious person as well. His best friend is easily Itsumi as he is the only consistently required player for Mikado. He is also seen standing by him the most in matches, etc.He is very dedicated to his team and exemplifies this fact in his unifying plays. He is very passionate about soccer and has a pure love for it that makes it possible for him to form a penguin shoot [which we have learned in Haizaki’s manga, is a technique born to the select few]The fact that he is not a loud person is shown even in the show as he doesnt have a lot to say as a character. He works hard, he takes pride in his team and his soccer, he accepts none less, the end. Not to say that’s the end of his character.Being against violence is an interesting and very cool contrast to his general appearance and demeanor.Words I would use to describe him-Prideful-Stable-Gentle Giant-Calming-Hardworking-Cat Person

Appearance:

He styles his hair, spiking the hair on the top of his head and either slicking back the sides or keeping it shaved so that he always has the clean cut look

His ears are also big ! the parts of his body that are larger/broader indicate that he works out to be that big. Thinning naturally at his neck, waist, and places where his muscles are less used or worked on

Speculations:

He is covered in scars that, while start small on his face, get larger the farther down you see them. This is interesting considering he is not a violent person. These can be indications of conflict brought upon him by those who are judging him for his size, how hard he was trained and tested on God Eden, or a traumatic event in his younger life that has left its mark on him.

OverviewShe’s friends with her fellow second year manager Seto Midori, and since Midori has a tenancy to act before she speaks, Akane sometimes helps stop her from getting carried away.

She’s a huge fan of Shindou Takuto. She refers to him as Shin-sama and during soccer practice she’ll utter things like ‘Shin-sama is wonderful,’ and ‘Shin-sama is so dashing,’ etc…

Photography seems to be her hobby and she constantly carries a pink camera around with her.

In the Sengoku era arc, she’s portrayed as being a little bit jealous of Okatsu, the girl Shindou became close to. However, in the game version she understood his feelings towards Okatsu, and in order to give the two time to have their final conversation, she contributed to postponing the departure of the Inazuma Caravan. This shows she’s a kind and considerate girl.

While she does admire Shindou a lot, she doesn’t purely focus her attention on him - she cares about the team as a whole, such as when she showed Shinsuke a photo she had taken when he made his special move.

According to the games, she originally bought her camera to primarily be used to take photos of Shindou, but she’s gradually come to take photos of everyone and now it’s full of pictures of the whole team.

In the drama CD she took photos of Shindou from underwater, surprising Hakuryuu and Tsurugi.

AppearanceShe has large violet eyes and wears her hair in thick plaits. The color is light purple (or a red so light it looks brown?). Her uniform ribbon is blue. Unlike many of the girls who wear white socks, she wears dark purple tights.

She is not very short for her age, even being considered average height. She is almost even with Shindou and Kirino in height.

PersonalityShe’s described as very gentle, a bit air-headed, and mysterious. She’s quiet and often speaks in fragments rather than full sentences.

She can be considered a Romantic or even a Hopeless Romantic, this is implied with the way she talks about Shindou and the fact that you need the Valentine topic to recruit her in the games.

In Chrono Stone it’s revealed she has an interested in science fiction. When the talk turns to SF she lights up with enthusiasm and shows great knowledge for her favored subject. This also marks the start of her displaying her interests outside of “admiring Shindou”, allowing her to develop as her own character.

One of the chapter of the Ciao Inazuma Eleven GO anthology is based around her. Her personality is altered to become more like a typical shoujo protagonist. She speaks a lot more and while she uses normal, casual Japanese with the others, her inner monologue is in keigo (polite Japanese).

She is commonly seen clasping her hands together/entwining her fingers in front of her.

“Clasping and squeezing hands together is a self-pacifying gesture. A person does this to show that they are either uncomfortable, nervous, or even fearful. That or they are trying to assure themself, “Everything’s going to be alright.” A variation of this is rubbing the wrist. Clasped hands with interwoven fingers indicate great anxiety or frustration.“

This contributes to her meek and gentle nature, showing weekness and uncertainty in how she holds herself. While she never seems to worry about much, she could still be displaying that she is a nervous or even anxious person.

Her eyes always look very dreamy as if she is always in her own little world.

This is probably a visual reminder of her “Air-headed Nature” as when she is focused on she usually says something strange that exasperates the people immediately surrounding her. She speaks very softly and doesn’t say very much when she does talk, this feature about her capitalizes on her meek nature the same way that her hand gestures do.

Misc

In an interview with her voice actor Yurin, she wonders what club Akane would join in the parallel world in Chrono Stone. She brings up that she could have a laugh with Midori in the ping pong club, but ultimately decides that Akane will follow Shin-sama to whichever club he chooses to join.

There’s a joke among the voice actors that her camera is indestructible. She can take photos underwater and in the movie when she drops her camera it still doesn’t break.

Originally, the script of the drama CD called for Shindou to refer to her by Akane, her first name, but on the day of the recording the staff announced that he would instead call her by her surname, Yamana. Her voice actor comments that she must be disappointed because her dream of Shin-sama calling her Akane still hasn’t come true.

Her voice actor Yurin regrets that she didn’t take a photo of Shindou in his Japanese-style clothes when she had the chance. She comments that every time Akane has a chance to get closer to Shindou she never takes it. ((Perhaps out of shyness?)) When Okatsu makes a bento lunch for Shindou, Akane comments ‘I want to make a bento for Shin-sama too,’. Yurin comments that she should, and show her appeal by making something other than tofu.

Character Trope Associated with this CharacterCloudcuckoolander - A character with their head in the clouds. They are strangely oblivious to things that everyone else takes for granted. This character, by definition, isn’t stupid. They can be highly intelligent and very insightful or even geniuses, it’s just the things they sometimes say and do may come off as weird, awkward, over-the-top, illogical, eccentric, etc. And because imagination often runs wild, they tend to be Easily Impressed.

PersonalityIbuki is very ambitious. Examples of this would be Ibuki refusing to quit when the rest of the team is contemplating leaving. He doesn’t even give it second thought to stay on the team bc he hasn’t proved himself as a goalkeeper. This is cited from Episode 5.

He has a lot of pride,this also cause that he shows a lot of stubbornness. When he played Basketball at Gassen K. he was disliked by his teammates for trying to be a One-Man-Show and his confidence was reinforced by their wins, thinking they were all thanks to him. Because of this, he believes that he doesn’t need anyone and that he can do everything by himself.This makes the losses he takes during the series a lot harder on him, he even walks off the field after the teams loss against Rapid Fire. He is very straight-forward.

He has a protective nature. This can be reflected simply by his position as goalkeeper but is highlighted in Episodes 28-29. His immediate reaction to being attacked by a mechanical bird was to save Konaha and defend his teammates while Shindou got them to safety.

He is hot-headed. He gets frustrated at himself, and Shindou, very easily when they are still on earth. He visibly gets angry with Shindou when he doesn’t believe that Ibuki can protect their goal. He also gets very frustrated with himself when he is training and can be seem clenching his fists, gritting his teeth, and making sounds of frustration like yelling or cursing under his breath.

He can be listless about people that he isn’t close to. When Konaha goes missing in Episode 11, he takes no initiative to look for her and shows no signs of outward concern.

Appearance He is described very thematically, and consistently, as a witch/clown -like character. He is even purposefully drawn with a longer or more definite nose (another smaller detail relating to the previous fact. Examples being

The bun’s he pulls his hair into are very big, meaning that his hair is very thick and long. The shorter hair that frames his face is very wavy and flips in different directions. 

This means that he has naturally very curly hair or curls it himself. Either way, the way that he styles it is very clean which shows that he puts time and effort into the way he looks. The fact that he puts most of his hair back shows that he does his hair for convenience as much as style (long hair would be harder to manage while playing soccer).

His chest and hips are the same length wide and his waist takes only a small dip in. His arms are thin he is generally drawn with a delicate looking frame/face, even though he is the teams striker. He uses his avatar more than twice in the match against raimon and even uses it twice within a short period of time. He also helps rough up riamon’s team which takes even more of his energy to keep up with. He doesn’t break sweat or show signs of exhaustion, keeping his initial response time and speed in the match as well, despite all that he is doing in that match. His game stats show that Stamina is one of his lower scores which proves how powerful he is as a player.

Personality He is described as a trickster and is always seen with a mischievous grin or smirk. He is also described as manipulative which implies that he is somewhat (or even very) charismatic. You have to have a Karaoke Mic as an Item to scout him which could imply that he likes to sing/perform.

Popular Fan ThoriesIt is speculated that Ishido, himself, taught Kurosaki how to use his Keshin and Bakunetsu Storm.

Incidentally, his trainer Saginuma Osamu can also learn Ballista Shot, but it’s unclear if this intentionally implies Kurosaki learned the move from him.

He bears similarities to Aphrodi in being based off a God and being a tall, effeminate final boss character.

AppearanceHe is consistently associated with Gods/Titans, as is his entire team. This can be related to how ethereal his design is: having very fair skin, slanted pretty eyes, and thick lashes. His hair is also very long and portrayed as soft and flowing. He is extremely petite and is described as having a “very feminine and delicate” design. A notable characteristic is the white headband he wears, it most likely functions as a sweat band (a type of headband designs to soak up sweat when practicing or playing sports that is later removed and washed).

His nose is lower and given more definition on his face. This is supposed to make him look mature and like his features are starting to fill out more. The visual effect of this tactic makes him feel like a bigger opponent for Raimon bc he seems like he would be older than them, therefore more experienced and more powerful.

Following that, in Japan ‘hana ga takai’ (lit. nose is long) is a compliment given to people with prominent noses, which implies something along the lines of ‘noble nose’ or ‘stylish nose’. Most Japanese naturally have “low noses” (low at the nasal bridge) and may feel that this is an ‘unstylish’ feature.

His shoulders are small but his chest is wide, making his small waist seem to take a dip inward. His lower half seems to be even to the width of his chest, making him seem more even in shape. This is also to exemplify him (visually) as a well-balanced (therefore stronger) opponent.

Name MeaningHis given name “Makoto” means true, pure or just, which could allude to him being a truly perfect soccer player ‘in mind, body and spirit’.

PersonalityHe speaks very formally and is generally very polite.

The amount of other players that you have to recruit before him could be implications of him being a very social person who likes to be surrounded by friends/comrades.

The topic of the Round Table is needed to recruit him in Chrono Stone which implies an interest he has in Romance or even his qualifications to be a knight during the King Aurthur arc of the series.

He is described as having “perfect emotion strength” which could hint to him being very strong willed and level headed.

He is a great sportsman, being focused and enthusiastic about playing in the finals regardless of the scores. He also faces Tenma before the match and is very respectful despite the revolution and what Tenma is fighting for.

Popular Tropes Associated with this CharacterPure Is Not Good: In Japanese Media, this trope is likely rooted in the philosophical concept of “Makoto”, which loosely means "pure (heart/mind/soul/motives)”. It basically means a mind free of distractions, unnecessary thoughts, doubts, or fallacies and is mostly used in context of hard work, loyalty, determination, and intense emotion. “Makoto”, while considered a “good” thing, is not limited to good intentions. Their dedication is “pure”; their goals, not so much.

His notable traits are his gravity defying hair that’s described as the color of ‘young leaves’, and one of the Inazuma series’ sekigan ‘one eyed character’.

He’s a Seed sent to Teikoku by Fifth Sector. His voice actor, Maeno Tomoaki, said:

With Ryuukishi Tedis he won against Shindou in a one-on-one fight, and I feel like even out of all the Seeds, he’s at quite a high level.

As a Seed it can be assumed he underwent rigorous training at God Eden under the instructor Kibayama.

Name MeaningHis name in kanji is written like this 龍崎皇児.His family name, Ryuuzaki, can also be pronounced as Longqi in Chinese, and uses the same kanji as the Longqi District in Taiwan. If this is intentional, it might suggest Taiwanese ancestry.However, it is more likely that the name was chosen for the sound RYUU, which means dragon. That said, this RYUU 龍 generally is used to refer to a Chinese dragon (with ドラゴン doragon referring to a Western-style dragon). However, since his keshin is humanoid it’s unclear if it is based on a Chinese-style dragon.The second part of his name 皇児 individually means 皇 emperor and 児 child. Pronounced as Ouji, which sounds like the Japanese word for prince. With this along with his dragon motif and regal design, not to mention his long hair flowing behind him almost like a mane, his theme seems to be that of a ‘dragon prince’.

He has a wide chest+shoulders and his waist takes a significant inward dip. His hips are not as wide as his chest but does move outwards from his small waist.

PersonalityHe is described as having a superiority complex due to his claims of being “undefeatable” in Teikoku’s match against Raimon during Holy Road. This would also be a play on his name “Ouji” meaning (or being similar) to the word “Prince”.Needing Teikoku’s Strategy Notes implies that he could be either very studious or interested in learning to strategize for his team.
