there arent any spells or magical perfect answers to this. like, theres no straight up “spell to get an exactly perfect yes or no on whether or not one is otherkin” thing. besides, its important to do introspection. Theres no need to rush.

really, i just recommend meditating on it, maybe doing a tarot reading, or seeking out dreams about it.

and i mean, Otherkin is a label. and while, yes, it can be misused, its not like… a magical condition. Astrally, there are no otherkin, just spirits.Otherkin is a human identity label for when you identify AS a nonhuman. If you strongly feel like you’re something nonhuman living in human skin, there u go. welcome to the club.If you identify WITH, or relate to, or feel like you belong with nonhuman things, and you dont identify as a nonhuman yourself, thats otherheart/kith, and not otherkin. otherheart does not mean you are less, and it is just as valid. you can also be both otherheart and otherkin.

you don’t require bonafied, indisputable proof to be otherkin. not saying you should lie and choose a kintype cause nobody’s gonna notice, but i mean its up to you to decide how you feel about it. theres no blood test for it, or psych evaluation, and you’re not going to receive a diploma. you dont need to be dysphoric, you dont need to identify with a feral mindset, you dont need to be any specific creature, and you dont have to dream about it all the time. All you need is you, your introspection, and your feelings.

ye sure. I identify as otherkin because I believe my spirit is non-human. like... my spirit has always been non-human shaped, no matter the shape of the body's I’ve inhabited. My spirit has two main shapes, so I have two kintypes. though they are different I dont really separate them much as they are both me.

I’m a ‘hound’ as I call it, though we’ve gone by a lot of names in various mythologies and whatnot. so I look like a glowy, giant white wolf-like being in that shape. sometimes wings. sometimes bipedal. 

And I’m also a seawolf, which is also called a gonakadet, Sisiutl, or Wasgo. It’s essentially a sea serpent. a wolf or seal-like head, long snake-like body, 4 short legs, paddle tail, tall wolf ears, dorsal fin or two, very dark blue-green, and can ocassionally glow a bright gold color if im in a mood.

Contacting your guide is a very personal adventure. Everyone has their own unique experience. Thus, much like with your first ask, none of my suggestions are really for-sure. Also guides are real living beings, existing only in another form of existence. They might have a preference on how they want you to find them. In the past, for friends, I have done guided walk-throughs on meeting one’s guide… its a lot easier that way so I can tailor the situation to the individual, and I can contact their guide beforehand to ask then what they want the experience to be like. Though I understand that not everyone has this opportunity and while I’m more than willing to do this for anyone who’d prefer that, I cant do it for everyone, you know? So heres some bullets of methods and tips.

It’s all in your head. And I don’t mean like you’ve made it up. I mean the conversation with spirits. A guide is just another spirit, except they have a special connection to you. When talking with spirits, it’s as though thoughts enter your mind that are not your own, and the whole idea is to let it happen. It’s telepathy. You have to quiet your mind, and let your thoughts ebb and flow so they can easily communicate. If it doesn’t work the first time or you get anxious, just do it again. Once you get the hang of it… its like riding a bike.

Ask alllllll the questions. Most spirits wont talk without first being prompted by a question. When first meeting your guide make sure to think of them…. put energy into the idea that you are talking to your one-and-only guide, so that they know its them you want, and nasty leech things can’t pretend to be them. If when you meet them something feels icky and you dont feel safe with them, stop communicating and try again the next day. You should feel an automatic sense of safety with your guide.

They hear you when you don’t hear them. And they are always there. They have nowhere to be, except with you. You are their one and only job. So if you’re talking out-loud at any time, they hear you. Whatever thoughts you’re thinking? they hear that too. So never feel alone. They absolutely want to meet you. I have never meet a guide that wasnt absolutely thrilled that I was trying to help them talk to the one they’re guiding.

Think about the past when you have perhaps dreamed of an animal or figure more than once. Maybe you always drew this one animal over and over again. Or there’s an animal you feel close to. Keep that in mind. Guides tend to be animals. Why you ask? Because the vastmajority of spirits are not human spirits. Also, my high suspicion is that animal spirits have way, way less drama among their species than humanoid spirits. Also take note that they might not be any animal you’ve seen, or are only reminiscent of an animal you know. or maybe they’re kinda magical looking.

Ask them to visit you in your dreams. Call them during a lucid dream. Try to meet them in a partial projection

Sure. Of course, it depends on your beliefs, If you are a spiritual sort of otherkin. Perhaps the other kintype is a past life, which one can have many of, or it could be a different shape that your spirit takes when you’re not living in a physical body. It could also be a otherheart thing, which is where you identify with a thing, rather than as the thing. such as “I am not a horse, but I feel as though my soul belongs with horses.”Take some time to do some introspection about it.
