Back in Montreal, not long before the draft, Jack had died. But only for a bit.
The witch heād met there had very kindly saved his life, so he was inclined to forgive him any small oversight. For instance, the lack of instruction manual or, perhaps, the fact that heād neglected to mention Jackās new psychic powers.
So he kept his head down. Played hockey. Tried to navigate old friends and new teammates. And, occasionally, heād have to go and stop a death heād seen coming like he was some sort of conscientious banshee. What he absolutely didnāt want to do was to solve any mysteries or delve any deeper into the whole magicā¦ thing.
Comments: i read along when this was still a wip, and then it got lost in my bookmarks for a while, and man, am i ever glad to have found it again. mind the tags, thereās death and a lot of talk about dying, but whoa guys. such a good Jack POV, a little blunt, a lot awkward, and with juuust enough history to make things interesting. this isnāt really a romantic story, but there are hints about Jack and Kentās past and a sprinkle of Bitty and Jack might be. honestly, this is a story about Jack figuring himself out post od and that comes with connecting and reconnecting with Bitty and Kent respectively. plus a lot of trips to a police station ācause saving lives comes with some adventureĀ
