Hey everyone! Mod Morgan here, and phew! It feels like this event has been going on for a long time, and yet, somehow, at the same time, it feels like it’s just started. But that’s another solstice week gone, and another Solstice Celebration event finished. There’s quite a few things to go over. First thing’s first, as you may have noticed, the Pirate Panic event kept us working pretty hard. It was a bit exhausting, and odds are we’re gonna revise it to make it less grueling on us to write for, and less complicated for you guys to read as well. I already have an idea for how we’re gonna do that too, and it seems like Mod Hector and Lyn are on board for it, so if we do Pirate Panic during next year’s event, we already have a basic idea set to make it easier on everyone!
Normally I don’t do thank yous this early in the wrap-up post either, but I do want to take time to thank this ball of fluff and sunshine that I always use as a mod for this event. That excitement and drive that M!Morgan’s known for really lit up a spark in me as we started getting closer toward this event, and all the ideas and suggestions I came up with are really thanks to my muse for him and how he inspires me. I know he’s a fictional character, but I owe any ideas I came up with for this Summer Solstice and the drive to continue through to him, no joke. It makes me proud to have him as a muse! Anyway, enough of my rambling, time to let the other mods have their turn!
IT WAS GOOD, OKAY BYE! Ahem...
Mod Hector here, and I’ll keep things short and less sappy, but for the most part, I do want to thank everyone first and foremost for really giving some spark to the event. I have to say it was a rough start at the beginning especially to get the Pirate Panic teams organized, so to have other muns chip in to get the word out with those that still needed crew members is very much appreciated, and honestly, it gave inspiration to finish this thing proper.
And beyond that, I do want to thank all the participation what with the basic interactions, vendors, submissions, and all that stuff. As said before, our priority is for others to have fun with the premise given to them, and create their own thing to just expand the community in a way. I always say it helps to be open to ideas, and hey, if there’s something we offer there’s no helping to keep a padlock on it, yeah?
Anyway, thank you all again for joining us!!
And here’s Mod Lyn! I was always peeking into the tags to see how things were going, and was pleasantly surprised at the interactions and commentary going on. The Pirate Panic was a lot of work -- more than before, even -- but I genuinely had fun going off on needlessly long writeups. So to keep this brief (and not repeat what’s already been said too much), thanks for having us for the Solstice Celebration, and thanks for being a part of it!
So I’m sure you’re all wondering what’s next for the Solstice Celebration blog. Well, the odds are that, much like last year, we will return sometime in the winter...but I think we’re going to plan it out for probably sometime considerably earlier than when we did it last year, as that was a little too close to the holidays for everyone. We might look at December again, but not so close to Christmas, that’s for sure. We learned our lesson from last year. Also, I’m not sure if it will be the Yggdratrail again or not, but if it is, then we’re definitely gonna re-tool it. People had a lot of concerns about making choices for their team on time and whatnot, and we don’t wanna have to put that pressure on ourselves or anyone else, believe me. I’m not sure what’s all is in store for the next Winter Solstice event, but we’ll figure it out before we get there, so don’t you worry too much. For now though, it’s time for a well-deserved rest for us mods
Before we go, there’s some serious thanks to give out. First of all, to Mod Lyn and Mod Hector as always, for helping make this event what it is and allowing it to exist in the first place. I may be crazy, but I’m not crazy enough to attempt it on my own, haha. Mod Hector handled most of the graphics as per usual, and Mod Lyn did some awesome art of @sakuradreamerz‘ Nora...and speaking of which, a big shoutout to them and all our other captains, @vallablooded, @dragonknightsworn, @tomestobetold, @sweetestest-ninja, @birthrightforged, and @revermause! Thank you guys for putting together teams to make such a great (if somewhat tiring, but that’s on me) event happen!
And of course, the last thanks go out to everyone else who participated, whether it be in Pirate Panic, the marketplace, the Talent Show, or really any number of things across the week! You guys getting excited early and really hyping up this event have given myself and the other mods the drive we needed to keep going with this event when we might’ve gotten too tired otherwise if people seemed disinterested. We want to make sure you guys have a fun time and connect everyone in the community to each other, so to see so much going on as a result of this lets us know we’re somehow doing something right, and we can’t thank you guys enough for being a part of this and giving some positive energy to a community that really needs it sometimes.
Well, we’ve rambled on long enough, but that’s about all for now. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the event feedback survey coming up later today! Also, word has it there may be an event hosted by another blog coming up in about a month and a half or so, but who’s to say for sure? ;)
Love you guys, and see you next time! <3
