Upcoming events for Twin Cities area!
In partnership with Oyate Hotanin, InEquality, American Indian Prison Project, Circle of Peace Movement, and the Minnesota Historical Society. Please join us for this FREE event: The opening of the national traveling exhibition, States of Incarceration, which seeks to explore mass incarceration in our own communities and to open dialogue on what should happen next. Included in the traveling exhibit will be a curated community wall that consists of ledger drawings by artist Quinton Maldonado and drawings/beadwork/letters from incarceration survivors. Enjoy refreshments while we hear from spoken word artists, community members/organizers and incarceration survivors on the impact mass incarceration has had on them. Join us as we spend the evening browsing the exhibit, hearing from activists and organizations who are working in prison reform and rehabilitation. The exhibition runs from November 20, 2018-February 8, 2019. Eloise [Live at First Avenue] - The Residents (1986)
We’re in the early stages of working on an exhibit about First Ave at work right now, so the timing of The Residents’ posting their full, unedited concert recorded there is definitely a good omen.
It also means that I get to listen to The Residents at work under the guise of official research. Dream job alert.
Never a word from this Mortimer Snerd.
