So the first crazy thing is that Hawkmoth was ready to give up. He tried so many different things and really stepped up his game during season 2 but that much failure really gets to a person. He was getting really close too. Style Queen was meant to be his masterpiece and I can see why but that’s not what this post is about so I’ll move on now.

A long time ago, in between season 1 and 2, I was thinking of how Hawkmoth’s power could be used for good. I couldn’t see it at first as it worked exceptionally well as a “Villian of the week” thing. But then it occurred to me: The holder of the Butterfly Miraculous could most likely be the leader of an organization of superheroes. They could go out, recruit people and just help so many people. But even then, I was only thinking about the holder working independently. After Queen Wasp, I’ve realized something new. Now before I say what this new thing is I’d like to make something clear: Hawkmoth is incredibly powerful.

I first realized this while watching Copycat: where Hawkmoth created an exact duplicate of Cat Noir, complete with his Cataclysm but without the need to transform back. Next in line is Antibug, in which Hawkmoth creates an arguably better version of Ladybug. Her Anticharm appeared to give her exactly what she wanted, maybe. Lastly we have Volpina which shocked me to say the least. I thought that her Illusion powers were because of her lying but fast forward to Rena Rouge and we see that that actually was the power of the fox miraculous, and she had no limit to it. Now that I’ve explained Hawkmoth’s sheer power, I’d like to explain what the potential role of the butterfly miraculous holder in a team might be.

In the past, when I speculated about a good Butterfly Miraculous holder, I didn’t and still don’t consider it a possibility that they would be a front-lines fighter. And throughout Season 2 it’s been made clear to me that fans are in love with the idea of a Miraculous Team. So if Nooru is rescued and given to a new owner possibly The Guardian I’d like to think that they’re role would be one of support. As we’ve seen in Queen Wasp: Hawkmoth has the power to place Akumas in Miraculous and vastly improve the holder’s powers.

“Oh, you can only use that special power once? Well here’s an army of magic wasps entirely under your command that can use your power on your behalf and also can carry everything around like it’s nothing. And as an added bonus you don’t have to transform back.”

I mean come on. So the concept I’m pitching here is that the new holder of the Butterfly Miraculous can take a backseat during a crisis waiting for a real emergency. Then when the rest of the team is backed against the wall they can send in whatever a good akuma is supposed to be and give a teammate a massive power boost. Or maybe a specific upgrade Not unlike the kind that The Guardian makes. These power-ups wouldn’t have to be permanent, I do remember Hawkmoth threatening to take away the power of one of his victims.
