Antibug

En: I love a good catfight.

Fr: Ha ! Ça te fait plaisir hein, mon chaton ?

Hah! You like that, huh, my kitty?

Antibug uses different names to refer to Ladybug. In English, she calls her Ladybrat and Bugface. In French, she calls her Ladypeureuse and Ladyfroussarde, which roughly translate to "Ladyfearful" and "Ladycoward".

She doesn't expect what happens next, though. She suddenly finds herself getting dropkicked in the abdomen as the person swings in. She crashes to the floor while holding her abdomen and releasing a violent coughing fit, much to the amusement of her assailant.

"Ah, what's the matter, Paparazzi? I thought you wanted the exclusive scoop?" An all too familiar mocking voice says in sadistic amusement as Antibug stares down at her victim.

Fighting through the easing pain, Alya tilts her head to look up at who hit her and gains a surprised expression as she realizes it's Chloe in what looks like an evil Ladybug cosplay. Growing angry as she registers that the girl not only mocks her but also sucker-punched her. In her anger, Alya doesn't consider why Chloe might be wearing those clothes. The only thing on her mind is that she wants payback against the girl.

"Chloe!" She growls in anger as she pulls herself up and charges at the girl with the full intention of beating her up.

Unfortunately, that plan fails as Antibug effortlessly stops the girl's reckless charge by lifting the girl by the throat. Alya thrashes in surprise and terror as she realizes something is definitely wrong. As fear replaces her anger, Alya realizes what Chloe likely is now. Seeing this realization set in through her victim's eyes, Antibug somehow gains a more menacing smirk.

"Too bad. It looks like that didn't work. And it's not Chloe. It's Antibug." Antibug tells the girl with a disgusted emphasis on her original name.

Hearing this confirms Alya's fears and causes her to struggle even harder to get out of Antibug's grip and escape or call for help. But nothing she does helps her get away from the magically enhanced girl. All it does is amuse her more.

"What's the matter? Don't you want to get a celebrity interview? It might spice up your pathetic blog if you talked to Paris' newest exceptional heroine." Antibug mocks the girl in her grasp before pulling out a phone and starting a live stream.

With the heroes, they're meeting near the Louvre so they can drop in on ALix's dad when he pops out.

"Are you sure your dad will come out?" Cat Noir asks Brawling Tiger as he and her play cards to pass the time while Ladybug and Canine keep their eyes out.

"Trust me, he usually gets out around this time unless he has to pull an all-nighter." Brawling Tiger confirms her words from before.

"I hope we see him soon then." Ladybug sighs as she taps a finger on the roof ledge she's sitting on anxiously.

Canine doesn't join in on the banter. Instead, she remains focused on watching for Alim. A few minutes later, the girl can see him walking out.

"He's leaving." Canine tells the group, causing them to stand before all of their weapons ding with an alert.

The group blinks in surprise as they realize what happened. Everyone briefly forgets about Alim and looks at each other in confusion. Why are their weapons ringing with a message when they are all here? Cat Noir pulls out his staff in confusion, and a section of the tip protrudes to reveal a screen. When he sees what's on it, he gapes in surprise.

"What's the matter?" Ladybug asks him worriedly, causing Cat Noir to show her what's playing.

"Hey, Ladybug! I think it's time we prove who the real exceptional hero is. You and your sidekicks should meet me at the Eiffel Tower unless you want something to happen to your accomplice here." Antibug states before displaying a struggling Alya for the two to see.

The heroes, including Canine and Brawling Tiger, watching from their weapons, stare in horror before Antibug returns the focus to her.

"It's time I prove to Paris who the real villains are by exposing you frauds. Not only will I show how I'm far more exceptional, but I'll also prove all of this would've ended if you gave Hawkmoth your Miraculous." Antibug promises before ending the live stream.

The group stares at each other again, each trying to figure out what to do with this new situation. Finally, Canine speaks up.

"We need to stop Chloe before she does something to Alya." Canine tells the group, causing Brawling Tiger to point at her father.

"What about my dad? Shouldn't some of us stay behind to question him?" She asks in an urgent tone that shows she's not sure herself.

"We can do that later." Canine argues back before Cat Noir brings up another point.

"Should Ladybug stay out of the fight and see if she can find Hawkmoth with her new powers? This might be our chance to see if it works." He tells them, causing Canine to gain an uncertain expression.

"Well-" Canine starts before getting cut off by Brawling Tiger.

"No way! What if we need her to beat the Akuma? She's our best fighter." Brawling Tiger argues back, causing Canine to nod.

"But this is our chance to learn who Hawkmoth is and end everything." Cat Noir argues back, showing surprising determination and causing Canine to become uncertain about what to do.

She can see their points and is having trouble choosing the best action. On the one hand, the Akuma might be too strong for them without Ladybug since Antibug seems like she might be similar to the bug-themed heroine. On the other hand, the magic trail might vanish when they beat Antibug. That's if there is one, to begin with. She bites her lower lip before side-eyeing toward Ladybug to see what the other heroine thinks.

The bug-themed heroine is also deep in thought. Her mind seems to be arguing against itself at a mile a minute to figure out what to do. Her mind can't seem to accept one answer is better than the other. 

"What do I do?" She questions in a panicking tone.

She thinks so much about the topic that her mind suddenly shuts off as if trying to restart itself. When it does, her mind suddenly flashes back to Tikki's advice about doubting herself.

"Sometimes it's best not to second guess yourself." She thinks before taking a deep breath and closing her eyes.

She then remembers when she unlocked the Miracle Box for a second time and how it gave her and Cat Noir an incredible ally.

"Sometimes you have to take risks." She lists off that lesson she learned as well.

She then remembers Fu Cheng's advice on how to defeat Hawkmoth and how it will take all of them.

"And you have to trust your teammates." She thinks.

It's something she already does, but Fu Cheng's words make her remember it.

Instead of trying to figure it out with her mind, she's letting her instincts do the talking. She'll choose the first option she can think of out of the two. She'll trust herself to know what to do, even if it means taking a risk. She doesn't notice the faint glow of her earrings as she tries this.

Soon, the answer comes to her. When it does, she opens her eyes and looks at her uncertain or unsatisfied teammates.

"I'll see if I can track Hawkmoth while you three fight Chloe." She finally tells the group, causing Cat Noir to pump his fist happily.

"Are you sure?" Canine asks, wanting to make sure she's certain about this.

"Are you sure?" Canine asks, wanting to make sure she agrees with this.

"Yes, I think you three are more than enough to handle whatever Chloe throws at you. I trust you. Just don't let the butterfly get away until I've captured it." She warns the group, causing them to nod.

However, Cat Noir gives his teammate a worried expression, knowing how cautious she can be.

"Are you sure about this?" He voices his concerns, causing Ladybug's smile to grow more playful.

"Sometimes you need to take a risk." She tells him, causing him to excitedly grin at the fact she's quoting something he helped her figure out.

A few minutes later, Antibug waits impatiently for the heroes to arrive.

"Bunch of unexceptional cowards. Maybe I should drop Paparazzi to prove I'm not kidding about this." She grumbles as she impatiently taps her foot.

"Can you not?" Alya begs as she looks at Antibug from her spot, tied up in a chair.

"Shut it! Before I stuff your mouth with something!" Antibug growls at the girl.

"Hopefully, it's not your socks." A male voice calls behind her.

Antibug turns around to see Cat Noir, Canine, and Brawling Tiger looking at her. Well, Canine is. Brawling Tiger is looking at Cat Noir with a bored expression.

"Really? That's the best you could come up with?" She asks him, causing him to shrug with a nervous smile.

"It's a classic." He lightly defends himself.

Antibug ignores the banter, even if she agrees with Brawling Tiger, in favor of trying to find Ladybug among the group.

"What? Am I going to turn around and see Ladybug helping Paparazzi?" Antibug questions before doing just that.

However, she doesn't see Ladybug helping Alya, causing the captured girl to shrug.

"She's not here. By the way, I have something to show you gu-" Alya starts to tell the heroes about everything she's learned before getting cut off by an angry Antibug.

"Where is Ladybug!" She violently shouts at the trio with so much venom she could poison a whale.

"She has more important things to do than worry about your wanna-be ass." Brawling Tiger tells Antibug with a confident tone, feeling satisfied for delivering that news to the girl.

Hearing this causes Antibug to snarl at the cocky girl.

"How am I supposed to prove how exceptional I am if all I have to fight are the sidekicks?" She questions them in outrage, causing Brawling Tiger to glare this time.

"Hey, we don't need Ladybug to take you down!" She shouts at her, causing Antibug to scoff.

"Please, everyone knows Ladybug is probably the strongest of you four." She tells the group doubtfully and haughtily.

Hearing this causes Cat Noir to gain a thoughtful expression.

"You know, that is arguable. Canine can control people with her voice, and Brawling Tiger can punch people into space." Cat Noir lists, forgetting about his achievement.

"Don't forget about when you turned the Eiffel Tower to dust. That was so badass." Brawling Tiger grins, getting a nod from Canine, too.

Remembering that moment causes Cat Noir to cringe. He's even more terrified of what he can do to a person after that day.

"Please, Ladybug can make a costume to counter anyone. She's still leagues above you losers." Antibug tells the group.

Far away from the Eiffel Tower, Ladybug watches the confrontation in her new costume. With it, she can see a trail of magic that likely leads her to everywhere Chloe has been while under Hawkmoth's control. Her eyes narrow as she thinks about what she'll find at the end of that trail. With that in mind, she uses her yo-yo to sneakily swing after the path so Antibug doesn't notice her.

Unaware of the possible security leak coming for him, Hawkmoth narrows his eyes as he tries to figure out where Ladybug could be. It's not like the girl doesn't show up after the girls often. Hawkmoth has a bad feeling about this time, though. It doesn't feel like the other times. After all, the other three showed up at the same time. He finds that strange.

"Antibug, keep an eye out for anything strange. Ladybug could be using her powers to try and catch you off guard." Hawkmoth warns the girl through their connection, causing Antibug to scoff.

"Yeah, I know. You think I'd be stupid enough to think Ladybug won't swoop in to save the day?" Chloe disrespectfully asks Hawkmoth before glaring at the other heroes.

The three tense as they watch Antibug pull out her yo-yo, wondering what she'll do. Gaining a sinister grin, Antibug throws the yo-yo in the air while shouting.

"Anti-Charm!"

The heroes and Alya watch in shock as Antibug's yo-yo spins in the air and copies how Ladybug's Lucky Charm works. Cat Noir is the first to recover and expects Antibug's Anti-Charm to work like Ladybug's power, meaning that Antibug's Anti-Charm will get a random object that will give her an idea of what to transform into with Seamstress. To his shock, though, something more violent appears than a rubber spider or playing card.

It's a massive, two-handed greatsword of erratic design. It's at least twice the size of Antibug. It's primarily black with red polka dots running across it. The crossguard of this unusual weapon is like a bird's body soaring through the sky, with the head pointing at the blade of the weapon while the butt is attached to the handle. Actually, it's more accurate to say blades when defining the part that cuts with this weapon. The primary blade is scimitar-like, with red polka dots and holes running along it and spikes at the top. A secondary, smaller blade is attached to it. It stands out because it's red with black polka dots. The blade itself is like half of a pine tree. 

The heroes watch in shock as the weapon falls to Antibug. To their astoundment, Antibug catches it with one hand with ease. She then holds it with the back of the blade horizontal to the ground behind her head. The girl is obviously displaying her strength to the heroes.

"So, what do you losers think of my Anti-Charm? It's an improvement, isn't it?" Antibug rhetorically asks, getting the heroes out of their shock.

Brawling Tiger scowls at Antibug's showboating and is the first to step up to fight her.

"Why don't you try using that against me and see how it works out," Brawling Tiger tells her while holding up the hand she uses Clout for.

"That was the idea." Antibug rolls her eyes before swinging the blade at the tiger-themed heroine like it's a pocket knife.

Brawling Tiger is surprised by the speed of Antibug's attack and doesn't have time to dodge. Luckily, she has magic covering her body like a second skin to act as armor. She would be cut in half otherwise. Instead, she feels a sharp and brutal pain in her right arm before getting sent off the Eiffel Tower at breaking speed. The other two heroes watch in shock as their teammate crashes into the concrete below, cracking where she crashed. The girl groans below while wondering what happened.

"Did I really get sent flying by Chloe?" She wonders as she holds her head, thankful for her magic suit.

Back atop the tower, Antibug smirks at the other two mockingly.

"That's one down, three to go. Are you sure you don't want to save yourselves the pain by giving me your Miraculous?" Antibug asks in a playful and condescending tone.

The two heroes tense up and get into fighting stances against the villain, realizing they probably shouldn't have let Ladybug track Hawkmoth for this one.

"Okay, she's a lot stronger than she was as Fashionista." Cat Noir states the obvious in a nervous tone, causing Canine to nod while trying to figure out what to say to stop Antibug.

"Fashionista was last year's style. I'm the new and improved line." Antibug tells him with a smirk before swinging her massive sword at the heroes, causing them to duck or jump back to avoid the swing.

"Freeze!" Canine shouts as she activates Command to stop Antibug's attempts to attack them.

The orange-tinted soundwaves head toward Antibug, and the heroes believe it will work. However, something unexpected happens. Antibug suddenly glows scarlet before wings of dark red flames appear on her back, and she flies up to avoid the attack. The heroes look up in shock as Antibug looks down at them with a cocky smirk.

"Did you think that's all it would take to hit me? I told you, I'm the new and improved Ladybug." Antibug states before diving for Canine and trying to cleave her in two with her weapon.

The heroine barely rolls out of the way in time to avoid Antibug's strike. She then turns around and throws a spinning backkick to try hitting Antibug. However, the Ladybug copycat avoids the desperate blow by flying out of the way again. Cat Noir sees this and tries to make a timed strike by extending his baton at the girl. But Antibug parries it away with her sword.

"Too bad, you mangy cat. I won't be as easy to defeat as my failed counterpart. And I doubt you'll get an upgrade to save the day." Antibug mocks him as she mentally orders her wings to launch fireballs at the two heroes, deciding to play this at a distance to extend her fun.

Cat Noir blocks these by rapidly spinning his baton to create a makeshift shield. However, the force from the continuous barrage of attacks pushes him back.

"I'm starting to regret my suggestion!" Cat Noir calls over to Canine, who moved behind him for protection and is trying to help him stay in place.

"We just need to hold out." Canine advises him as she tries to figure out how they'll escape this situation.

Meanwhile, Brawling Tiger finally recovers from the damage from Antibug's attack. With a growl and narrowed eyes, she starts climbing up the tower, planning to get revenge for Antibug's sucker punch.

"You are dead when I get my hands on you." She promises Antibug before freezing when she remembers her conversation about her second power.

With a sigh, she changes her plan slightly. If for no other reason than to ensure she pays Antibug back for her earlier attack.

"Stalk." Brawling Tiger states before she vanishes from sight.

The girl then begins climbing again. As she crawls up the tower, she thinks about Antibug's face when the girl is getting hit by Clout.

As the heroes continue to fight Antibug at the Eiffel Tower, Ladybug follows Antibug's magic footprints to the bakery. When she enters Chloe's room, her eyes narrow as she notices something off. Aside from Antibug, there's another magic signature. However, it's far fainter. Ladybug guesses that's because the butterfly isn't as large as Antibug. Luckily, she can still track it. Understanding this causes Ladybug to smile, happy to know she can still track Hawkmoth.

Back with the heroes, Cat Noir and Canine are doing their best to fight Antibug. However, the girl isn't making it easy for them. Every time Canine tries to hit her with Command, the girl maneuvers out of the way and uses her giant weapon to block all Cat Noir's strikes. Cat Noir can't use Black Hole because it won't work against a flying opponent. So, his attack options are limited.

"We really should've kept Ladybug here." Cat Noir tells Canine again as he tries to avoid another swing from Antibug.

However, the Akuma predicts his dodge and quickly hits him with the side of her weapon, throwing him off the Eiffel Tower as well. With Canine now alone, Antibug feels more assured of her victory. At the same time, she scowls as she realizes Ladybug truly isn't here. The villainized girl turns her attention to Canine and makes one final demand while holding the tip of her weapon under the girl's chin.

"I've had enough dealing with you sidekicks. Bring me Ladybug, now!" She growls at the heroine while trying to press the weapon closer to her throat, causing Canine to back away until she's at the edge of the Eiffel Tower.

Canine stares down at the blade tip, wondering if she can let out a command before Antibug can stop her or dodge. Antibug is keeping a close eye out for this, though. The second Canine tries anything other than calling for Ladybug. She plans to deal with the mutt quickly. All Canine can do is keep her arms in the air as a sign of surrender while internally panicking about what to do.

"Don't even think about using that stupid power. The second you try to say anything other than call Ladybug for help, you'll join your friends." Antibug warns the heroine with a growl as she glares into Canine's eyes.

Canine hates that gaze full of hatred. It reminds her of how her friend suddenly changed. It seems Antibug is under similar feelings.

"You know, I specifically hate you out of the four heroes. There's something about you that drives me crazy. You remind me too much of a stuck-up pest, I know." Antibug tells the girl, causing Canine to worry about if Antibug recognizes her through the suit.

There's also the fact that Antibug seems to be closing the distance between them, meaning Canine is running out of her already narrow space between her and falling off the tower. It also forces her to stare even more directly into those bitter, angry eyes she's long started to associate with Chloe.

"You're looking down on me too, aren't you? You think you're so much better than me because of your powers? Well, now I'm the exceptional one. And I'll prove that to everyone by beating Ladybug. Now, tell me where she is." Antibug demands in a low, bitter tone that promises pain if her orders aren't met.

As Canine opens her mouth to either launch another attack or try and calm Antibug down, Brawling Tiger manages to sneak back to where they are and carefully moves toward the two. She's doing her best not to alert Antibug that she's coming. It isn't until she's right on top of the two that she makes her move.

She suddenly appears and throws the bolas previously on her waist at Antibug, having them ensnare the Akuma. Unfortunately, she inadvertently causes Antibug to take a step forward and push Canine off the Eiffel Tower.

"Crap!" Brawling Tiger shouts in alarm.

However, Canine manages to grab the ledge at the last moment and pulls herself back up while Antibug struggles to break the magic rope tying her up.

"Let me out!" Antibug demands as she tries to burn the ropes off her. Sadly for her, the flames don't do anything.

Unwilling to give up, Antibug changes tactics by trying to fly in the air to escape them until she gets the bolas off her. Canine isn't willing to let it be that easy for her, though.

"Freeze!" She shouts at Antibug, causing the girl's body to cease against her will and make her lie on the ground.

"You okay?" Brawling Tiger asks the other heroine, causing Canine to look down at Antibug with an uncertain and pitying expression.

"I'm fine, let's just grab the Akuma." She sighs before the two try to find where the butterfly might be.

Meanwhile, Ladybug followed the magic trail to a rather unexpected place. And she doesn't mean unexpected, as if the magic trail leads her to a random business or home. No, it's quite the opposite. She's currently staring at Agreste Manor. The place she passes by for school practically every day with her cousin and where one of her teammates lives.

"It can't be." She mutters, unwilling to accept the idea that Hawkmoth has been right under their noses and close to one of them this whole time.

DRAMA!!! Ladybug and the Miraculous Team have finally discovered who Hawkmoth might be. Now it's a matter of whether they can truly believe it and how they'll handle this.
