Ectober Day 5: Fairy Circle
Lore dump under the readmore
Gah!! I’ve been sketching so much lately, ever since I’ve gotten back into watching Danny Phantom and getting obsessed with it all over again. The first is a pose and expression practice, using references only for Danny’s face because it’s weird lol. The second and third are studies and practices of hands and expressions. For various hands and expressions, I used some of @krossan ‘s concept art for their comic as reference. Lastly, Sam mostly from memory, plus eyeliner because she was a goth in the early 2000’s, she deserved eyeliner.
Doing these has made me realize how much this show and many others I watched as a kid influenced my personal art style without me realizing it. Danny’s square face, the pointy girl hands, the almost exclusive use of quick lines, etc. are all things I picked up from cartoons I watched as a kid and subsequently used frequently in my drawings. It’s interesting to do that kind of reflection and find that out. Hope these are fun to look at!
