A/N: Points to anyone who knows the reference to the song. This is if Kenshi and Raiden accidentally come to your engagement party.

Raiden:

“Welcome back, Raiden.” Madame Bo smiles, patting him on the arm, “It’s good to see you.”

Raiden smiles back. “It’s always a pleasure to be back, Madame Bo.” He looks around confused at the large crowd, everyone wearing formal wear. “I-Is there a special occasion going on?”

Madame Bo smiles brightly, “Oh you didn’t hear?” Raiden shakes his head, “It’s (Name)’s engagement party!”

Raiden’s heart dropped to his stomach, he didn’t expect to see you, seeing you for the first time in years, especially now, hearing the news you were getting married. His eyes darted looking for you until he sees you, recognizing you on the spot... you blossomed into a beautiful person. His eyes soften seeing you holding your new partner’s arm, laughing with your friends, and showing off your engagement ring.

He chuckled, seeing you happy was all he wanted to see, you were his first kiss, his first date to his dance in his rural high school, he felt young watching and reminiscing about his first love. The soft touch of your hand with his, the look of longing in your eye when inviting him to kiss you. 

He sighed, a young love that fleeted but he was happy to see you doing well for yourself, he always knew you would do better without him. There was a part of him that wondered what if, but he pushed his selfish thoughts and decided to walk up to you, giving you and your new partner his respects and congratulations.

Kenshi:

While Kenshi was waiting for Jax, leaning against the wall in a dimly lit bar he takes a shot of the whiskey in his hand. 

“Congratulations (Name)!” The crowd shouted, his head turned to hear where the voices were coming from. That name was so familiar… No way it could be…

“Thank you, and I appreciate everyone for coming.” Your voice echoed throughout the room, Kenshi’s heart stopped, leaning in closer to the crowd.

He knew your voice anywhere, it’s you. The person from his past, he could reminisce about the beauty you have, waking up to the sun glowing on your skin, every day was like waking up to an angel. His hands would roam your body, pushing your hair behind your ear, the sound of laughter when you would bicker back and forth.

All of these memories are crushed when he hears the other voice… The voice of your betroth.  “I’m so excited to be with (name).” Your fiancé's voice says, wrapping his arms around you, you laugh, placing your hand on his chest and staring at him with love and excitement.

While Kenshi couldn’t see your face in full view, his mind could picture the expression you had to your new love… The exact same way you would stare at him, maybe even more… Now that you were happier and truly in love.

A part of his heart pains to wonder what if he had stayed, if he could move past his duties to his clan and to the FBI, or defeat the Yakuza in its entirety. Could he have been happier to have stayed with you?

Kenshi could hear footsteps behind him, knowing Jax had came back. He stared at the blind swordsman. “Hey, I was looking for you! I found a lead on our assignment.”

Kenshi nods, he wanted to stay, maybe listen to your voice just a bit longer, but you were his past, he had to close that chapter of his life, no matter how hard it was for him to let go.
