let’s put that energy towards shit that actually matters!!!

as someone who has been in many fandom spaces as well as been on this app for almost a decade, the people who are truly upset about the audios and fanfic being created have never truly understood fandom and all the nuances that come with it.

when you choose to create or consume content as a fan of a celebrity/artist/any piece of media, you do it from a place of genuine love for the person or piece of art. while you can be uncomfortable with certain pieces of content created, bashing creators and shaming people who choose to consume said content is harmful to the space and counter productive.

specifically, the nsfw audios that have been circulating are nothing new to tumblr or fandom as a whole. hell, go on YOUTUBE—a mainstream streaming platform and if you type in (whatever character) x listener there are plenty of audios (nsfw or not) for the choosing. tumblr is not as heavily censored or monitored as tiktok, so nsfw content of any kind—written or auditory—should be expected. if you thought otherwise then maybe you aren’t mature enough to interact within this space.

minors are going to see things they weren’t meant to see. it’s pretty much a given. but when said minors bash the creators of the audios and the people consuming it that’s when it becomes an issue because how can you be so against something that wasn’t made for you to consume in the first place?

the people making these audios are talented voice actors who have no interest of tainting michael’s name or dragging a dead man’s name through the mud. the man was a sex symbol for God’s sake! the infantizaion of michael and outrage over these audios just feels performative and unnecessary.

the problem is they’re right!

he’ll be haunting the narrative forever, i don’t think he’ll ever fade
