I did not grow up in a black community, but an Appalachian poor white one .

So this is MY perspective

Black vs white mothers

It is easier to assimilate into a black community if your mother is the black one .

Firstly , *many black women have innate distrust for white women . Black women view white women as lazy/ void of common sense and question why they “run behind” black men.

White girls running around like puppies and referring to themselves as dummies on Tumblr reinforces this .

Also white women blatantly steal black culture as though it were a dress to take off and on

Many will legit pretend to be black or have curly hair just for attention

Did you notice that shitshow “curly hair” movement on YouTube .

So many white girls were legit copying black girls hair wash day routine , receiving lots of views , and once the attention was no longer present , you saw that they reverted back to their straight hair

Tumblr “redheads” do the exact same thing . Since I mentioned my hair was kinky , now it is very rare to see a white redhead on Tumblr with straight hair .

They all have “curly hair” hair now . I am talking spiral curls

It is so gross to see them use black culture as a means to an end

This is why Native Americans will not allow them into their space

The next thing you know , white people would be on Etsy selling their “heritage” bracelets.

Everything is about money , not culture to them

As a half white woman , I must say this is so embarrassing to me

Black woman power

The Black community is also matriarchal; meaning the women are the leaders .

In white America the men are .

Black women FIERCELY protect each other . I am speaking of virtual strangers .

It is easier to be accepted into the black community , even as a mixed race , if your mother is black …even if you are white passing as I am

All they cared to know was that my mother was black.

To be fair , my mother DID teach me black culture, my hair was cute , and all was well

How Blacks view each other

White people view African-Americans the same , but blacks differentiate

While at work , we had on the morning shows in the patient waiting rooms

Michael Stratham (maybe his name is spelled incorrectly, oh well ) is NOT considered anything in the black community

He only dates white women , so he is dead to blacks . His word is meaningless . The nurse turns the channel everytime he speaks

Jamie Fox was ill and no one cared and of course everyone was GLAD OJ Simpson went to prison

I learned that at a HBCU

If richer blacks do not reach back to help their black community, but instead start “laying up”with white women

That is what the Aunties call it , then

They are dead , dead , dead to the black community

Whites believe they are creating diversity when they place them on their programs , they only can recognize dark skin

but it becomes a advantage/disadvantage depending on how that black person chooses to live there life

Interesting, my German is obviously white , and black women do not say one word just

“Go ‘head on baby with your man”🤔😌

Pretending to be black

I notice that girls with white mothers , over compensate by being excessively black acting .

Most date really chocolate black men to darken up their children.

I do not do that .

I have not anything to prove to anyone .

My dad was white and I love white men.

Also I feel black men need to work on their commitment issues

It was so embarrassing to see a couple of years ago , black teens calling the radio station to wish their MOTHERS a happy Father’s Day 💀

This happened enough times that black men finally caught a clue.

Culture

As a mixed person , If you do not have basic knowledge of black culture, I would highly suggest attending a HBCU

They will teach it to you

It was invaluable to me

I also joined my mother sorority while there

Even if you did not grow up in an black environment, I feel that you can still be accepted into the community

The most important thing to remember is that black people believe in community service (helping each other ) ,

During the pandemic I was able to go into the black community to provide vaccines . It was so stressful bc I knew they were trusting me as another black person not to hurt them
