Employs the Transitioning Homeless: We've been at this for over 4 years working hard to get individuals off the streets and into stable employment. We've made a huge impact with our gear and now it's time to take the next big leap. With this cap we are employing the transitioning homeless to package up each and every cap and get them sent out the door to you.

So today we have Mitscoots.

Mitscoots is the rare case of 1-for-1 giving that doesn’t actually bother me. (In most of them, the offer doesn’t improve the local economy, and makes you feel good without necessarily changing anything.) Here, the donated socks go to local and national homeless groups, and the company employs transitioning homeless as employees. At $12-$15 per pair, they’re not on the cheap end, so hopefully they’ll have decent sales for those who can’t afford that splurge.

Other bonus: everyone gets the same sock patterns. Men have pink and purple options without converting sizes! Socks of all colors for all!

Mitscoots is a company that was born from the dire need for socks among the less fortunate. While volunteering along the streets of Austin, Texas circa 2008, they discovered that right after food and water, there was no greater request among the less fortunate than for a clean pair of socks. They saw a problem and are doing something about it. Three things in fact.
