His fingers tightened around the handle of the gun as his feet led him from corridors to corridors, hoping he would catch a FLASH of blonde hair. Being aware of his friends, his family following, he couldn’t stop his feet from moving ( he was not running & it was something already ). Then, they stopped & he stopped too as did his breath when his blue hues found her. Beth. BETH. BETH ! His heart slowed for a second before it went wild, beating so fast, wild behind the cage of his ribs, as if it wanted to BURST out of his chest. The bowman resisted the urge to bring his hand over the beast in his torso because it hurt, it hurt SO damn much to have her in his periphery. A harsh breath entered his lungs as her eyes finally met his. It was like breathing again, like he had been under water for so long, holding his breath. However, FEAR clung to his skin like a bad omen & he knew it wouldn’t leave him before he had her under his protection, before he could put his body between hers & any danger. He would NOT be ok until she was safely in his arms. He found a strange thought wandering his mind, a thought about folding her, making her so little he would be able to tuck her in his breast pocket, keeping her forever over his screaming heart. Rick was speaking but words couldn’t reach him as he tried to convey just by staring in her eyes how much he had MISSED her. ( & he had missed her SO freaking much.)
