ngl, i'm a little worried about bellamy. I know I shouldn't put too much stock into what's in the trailer as they're just breadcrumbs about the whole season, but still. I think Bellamy, Gabriel and Echo go into the Anomaly to save Octavia and the others go on another mission, back to the past, by the looks of it. I'm pretty sure they're time travelling (ishhh. it's a wormhole right) ANYWAY. its very very very exciting. Bellarke conflict?? GIMME IT. They're at their best when they clash, anyway
I don’t see any bellarke conflict. I do see missing Bellamy.
The trailer focuses on Clarke as the center, and it shows a lot of conflict. Internal conflict for Clarke as she tries to balance her need for revenge with her need for peace and to do better. Conflict with the factions on Sanctum. Conflict with the people in the anomaly. Conflict with O and Diyoza. A new world/worlds. Technology. Cults. War.
It looks like Clarke is the leader. If this were chess, she’d be the queen, right? But the only bits of Bellamy, the king, we see, are with him in his last season’s outfit and... is he talking to Octavia? This is not clear to me. It might be edited together, to make it seem like O is saying he’s not allowed to sacrifice himself for her. Whether that is or not. A Blake conflict... or reconciliation seems to be part of the story. Diyoza asks O why they are not enough, and B left her to die, why does she need him, or some such. (makes me wonder about Diyoza and Octavia’s relationship actually.) Right now we KNOW that Diyoza and O are in the anomaly. Bellamy MIGHT be. If he went in, it looks like he dove off the cliff and ran after octavia, because he’s still dressed in his cardigan, while Echo, who PLANNED is undercover in anomaly army dress.
But also, later, we see Raven in a high tech suit as if SHE’S heading in there too.
Anyway. To me it looks like the lack of Bellamy, the second lead character, and the focus on Clarke, is a sign that while Clarke might be the driving force of the action on Sanctum, one of HER driving forces is the missing Bellamy.
There’s a HOLE in the narrative we’ve been given. Where’s Bellamy? The closest to a story we’ve been given for him is all about Octavia and mostly from her POV. So why does the king, the most important piece on the board, get no story?
Because he’s in check, captured, and our heroes need to go save him.
Well. I think that could very well be the story outside of the chaos on sanctum.
I am not unhappy about this.
