911 really had an episode where they made it a point that eddie chose the water over the juice because he didn't feel worthy of joy only to later that same season have an episode titled don't drink the water where eddie could have taken the easy way out and left and gone back to texas that morning but instead he made the harder choice of flying his kid to la and apologizing and choosing buck and their family because the thing is when it actually came down to it it wasn't hard at all for him to choose joy
