Stefan Salvatore x Reader Series
A/N: Ok, so this is gonna be a slow one 😅. Please bear with me.

You were there ‘til you noticed it was already dark.
You walked backed to the Gilbert’s. Elena, Damon, as you’ve learned, and Jeremy were there.
“Hey,” Jeremy said hugging you.
Concern was etched into his face.
“I’m okay, I’m gonna be fine,” you forced a smile.
“How the hell are you that tall? And built? At fifteen? No, ma’am,” you said breaking the hug and actually taking in how much the little boy you used to babysit has grown.
It seemed to have lightened the mood just a little bit.
You patted his arm, “Consent, respect, and protection.”
Jeremy cringed, and Damon chuckled.
“Hey, um...I’m sorry I snapped at you earlier,” I told her.
“It’s totally fine,” she replied.
I can’t believe I’m about to do this, but here it goes.
“Thank you, and do you mind if I crash with you guys for a few days? I’m just...not quite ready to leave yet,” I said.
It’s true; everything that I’ve just discovered today, I have to let it all sink in. I need to feel her a little more. To be here where we grew up, where it started, it will help me go on. She would want that for me.
Elena’s eyes seem to widen a little, but she quickly regained her composure.
“Yes, of course. I’ll get the guest room ready,” she told me, and proceeded to go upstairs, but not before giving Damon an expecting look that I guess was supposed to be discreet.
You watched Elena go up the stairs before turning back to Damon.
“So,” you said lifting off of ur heels.
“You like their new guardian now or something?” you asked.
“You could say that,” he said.
“Just here ‘til I don’t need to be,” he added.
What a weird response, you thought.
Damon went behind the bar. “So best friend huh?”
“The one and only,” you replied.
“How about you, how’d you know Jenna?”
“Drinking buddy,” he said lifting the glass he just filled with bourbon.
“Ahh,” you reacted. Of course.
“Just drinking buddies? Nothing more?” you said seeing this as an opportunity to investigate a little bit. These kids were precious to Jenna, and now, you gotta look out for them, protect them from trouble. No matter how hot it may be.
“Well, I suggested it a few times, but she liked the history teacher just ‘wee bit better.”
“Ah, so not Jenna, just Elena?”
“Oooh, thought you caught something there didn’t ya?”
“You two look close, and the whole time I’ve been here, it’s like you’re hiding something from me, like you wanna get rid of me as soon as possible.”
“Smart, and snarky. Just like Jenna.”
He went around the counter, a predatory glint in his eyes. But he does scare me.
“What in the fuck did you do to Jenna?”
“Calm down, bestie. It’s not what you think, but getting involved with me, and Elena especially, is a very dangerous game.”
“YOU FUCKING PSYCHO! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO HER?!” I said charging towards him. I’m not afraid of him—I probably should be—but I’m not. They killed Jenna; they took her away from me, and it’s him who should be afraid of me.
“Woah!” then he whistled taunting me.
“You’re pretty brave there, bestie. Pretty strong too. So you’ll be just fine without Jenna.”
I was fuming. This insensitive murderer son of a bitch.
But the next thing he did took me off guard.
He stared dead into my eyes. They’re still furrowed in anger and confusion.
“So you will drive back home tonight; you’ve changed your mind. You spent the whole day with Jenna, not sorry, not angry, just sad, but you got the closure you needed. You’re happy to know that Elena and Jeremy already have a guardian and are well-off. You will get on with your life, and you will never think of them or visit here ever again.”
“What in the fuck!” That seemed to catch him off guard.
“You guys are fucking sick and you are going to rot in jail,” I got away from him making a run for the door.
But before I was able to reach for the knob, suddenly he was in front me.
“Afraid can’t let you do that.”
Then everything went black.
