thor's lightning split the chest of one metal beast that took aim some leagues away , whilst loki's back had turned to swiftly thrust his twin daggers into the hearts and eyes of other robots surrounding him . THUNDER STILL SHOOK THE EARTH , and rain splattered across the courts , but the winds stilled .

they took to each other , each a moth to flame , and thor arrested his heart within its cage and laid it down to rest . ( but not before a short review of loki's own health — and only when he deemed his state SUFFICIENT . ) how often did this very same circumstance befall them ? to be REUNITED ONCE MORE in the heat and the throes of battle , with so little time to speak , and less to waste .

❝ i've a ship docked in the southern bay . take any who cannot reach the east tower's fleet to it . and with HASTE . ❞ it was so much like ragnarok , and for that , thor's knuckles PALED around jarnbjorn's handle . this rescue effort would not go so poorly . he would not send loki out to soak his hands in blood and fire and ash on thor's behalf . NOT AGAIN .

Pit thinks to himself, still recovering from the burns and damage he gained from fighting Unum a couple minutes ago. The steam from his gold bands still lingered as some of his dulled feathers were stained with Ichor blood. He was pretty burnt from the fight. But, he needs to follow Unum. No matter what, he can't let him go and eat humans. He has to defeat him. He has to.

Pit tries to force himself up, breathing in a hiss as his joints shake from the weight. But, his body was too worn and tattered from before. Another failed attempt leaves him back onto the ground that felt so, so cold compared to the ungodly heat that previously wandered through Eterna Village.

He hears someone approach, able to spot dark boots in his unfocused vision. He forces his head to look up, only to see.. someone with a gold crown? He can't tell at the moment.

⚔️ // byleth did not remember much about her mercenary days . even now , there was a great portion of it enveloped by the fogs of a life drifted through , and shrouded in mystery as a result. what was not so foreign to her were the glimpses of memory that revolved large gatherings of jeralt's band , and how much they had to drink .

byleth did not take to the spirits the same way that jeralt had .

but that did not mean they were entirely disliked . and the aercon had highly recommended a place called EVENING SPIRITS , which sat comfortably in the rosewood district . given that someone she was now well - acquainted with worked there . . . it only seemed natural it would be the first tavern she frequented beyond waystone .

it seemed time flowed in her favor , this day , for she spotted his raven haired head and tall stature from the moment she stepped inside the door . making her way past the side tables and chairs , byleth slipped towards the central bar and seated herself at one of the bar stools .

LINK RAISED HIS HAND to his lips , skimming the pad of his thumb along the ridges of his teeth . for all of his research , link's efforts to get to the bottom of the temple's mystery hadn't proved especially fruitful yet . the earthquake had dumb a number on the already unstable ruins grounds . STILL — LINK COULD REMEMBER what he had been here for , before , even if the memories of his cursed life were embers flickering at the back of his mind .

HE WAS TRYING NOT TO DWELL ON IT TOO MUCH .

. . . it was uncanny .

HE LIFTED THE SHEIKAH SLATE . the shutter clicked and snapped , freezing an image of the temple's front gate . then another , zoomed into the weathered aether symbols on its face . a third , of the grate at his feet — miraculously intact since a week ago . squinting at the last photo , link chewed on the ridge of his thumb again in thought . he wasn't a scholar the way zelda was . far from it . but every ounce of information counted for something . or , that was what the princess would say , certainly .

TAP . TAP TAP . he typed out a small annotation next to the image . a reminder for later . 「 damage has been repaired to the aether temple . some kind of magic maybe ? 」and clicked .

there was nothing as suspicious in this world than people who seemingly wanted nothing in return for their favours. the bigger the favour, the bigger the catch. so naturally, seemingly being provided with a residence no strings attached, had chilchuck filled with a ton of unease as he approached said residence. no way in hell this was going to be as easy as it was made sound.

although not a fighter by nature, the way he had been rid of what little means he did have to defend himself, his trusty bow and arrows replaced with mockery also served to unnerve him. this could far too easily contain some form of trial by means of deeming him worthy or some shit like that. careful glance examined the door and lock. the only thing out of the ordinary was faint sounds of movement within. an ambush? then they'd picked the wrong person to mess with.

guided by the sound to avoid being spottet, he made a mental layout of the premises based on observation through the windows and guesswork about his blind spots. if he was careful and with the right timing, he would be able to sneak straight into the kitchen to procure some form of weapon. whatever form his enemy might bear, it didn't sound overwhelmingly big, so as long as the kitchen had a decent array of utensils he could probably get enough of an upper hand to make better observations. a deep inhale. he could do this.

taking off his shoes in advance, chilchuck twisted the key carefully and made sure to unlock the door with as little sound as humanly possible. guided by the audible sounds of pacing, he peeked through a crack he opened to the living room. a male tall-man. longer black hair, kind of like shuro. hopefully not the same fighting skills as shuro or this would be over before he could blink. it was now or never whilst the guy still had his back turned. with quick movements experienced in stealth, chilchuck went straight for the most likely place he could think to find a kitchen knife, and positioning himself strategically peeking out from the side of the counter, he let his presence be known.

Stalks-In-Shadows had only just recently manifested from the tower. She had a million questions, but felt that asking now wasn't the proper time. She had seen a figure before, who had made eye contact with her for a short time before walking away, and when she attempted to follow, she soon lost track of him, and found herself hopelessly lost.

At first she tried to catch his scent in the area, but for whatever reason, her enhanced sense of smell wasn't working...in fact, her hearing seemed a bit off as well, and after taking a few moments to collect herself and test something, she came to the scary realization that her werebeast abilities were somehow being cancelled out.

She was on her own. Taking out the strange key she was given, she read the inscription: Eterna Village 106.

So that was where she needed to go. And she didn't have the faintest idea where to begin looking. Looking around, she locks her eyes on a tree that she could climb, maybe get a bird's eye view.

Climbing the tree, upon getting to a high up branch and standing precariously on the long but decently strong looking branch, and holding onto the trunk of the tree, looking around, before she can see much of anything, she hears someone yell "HEY!"
