Happy birthday, @mischiefmangledmayhem.
Emma glanced over at Regina and was profoundly disappointed to see the other woman checking her cell phone. She frowned, folded her arms over her chest, and pouted as she shifted her gaze back to the television. Things were getting good, but Regina wasn’t even watching. She huffed quietly and tried to focus, but that was just so rude. These movies were such an intrinsic part of her childhood--probably one of the only parts that were good, to be completely honest--and Regina just didn’t care.
“Why do you have that look on your face?”
And now she was talking through the movie, too. Emma’s frown deepened. “Shh.”
Regina snagged the remote, pressed pause, and appraised Emma’s sour expression. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“I thought we were past the point of being petulant to one another.”
Emma shrugged. “I’m just trying to watch the movie.”
“As am I.”
Unable to contain herself, Emma snorted. “Okay.”
Regina’s brow furrowed, and her eyes narrowed. “Are you accusing me of doing otherwise?”
“Well…” Emma’s eyes drifted to Regina’s cell phone.
“Would you like to know what I was doing on my phone? If you’re going to judge me, you might as well know all the facts.”
Cheeks burning, Emma stuck her hand out. She inhaled slowly and looked down at the screen. Embarrassment flooded her as she scrolled through the Wikipedia page of Star Wars characters. “You--”
“There are many characters with complicated relationships. I have enough of that in my daily life, so to help keep the movie straight without confusing or stressing my mind, I was using Wikipedia. But I am watching.”
“I’m sorry. I thought--”
“Don’t hurt yourself,” Regina teased. “We still have five more movies to watch.”
“Ugh. No. We are not wasting your time on episodes one, two, or three.”
