โyouโre lyingโโ sheโs shaking her head. no, no, no. she wonโt believe it. if she lost her best friend, her other half, she would know. she would FEEL it. and maybe, deep down she does. but sheโs just in denial. because she doesnโt want to believe it. because if she comes to terms with this, she doesnโt know what sheโll do. because out of their entire group, evie was her voice of reason. the one who pulled her into the light, who brought out the goodness she had buried deep inside. and if she didnโt have her around. she was afraid of becoming who she once was in grief. sheโs still shaking her head, the tears streaming down her cheeks as she tries to hold back her sobs.ย โs-she not. stop saying that! s-she canโt be.โ because there wasnโt much in malโs life that she loved the way she loved evie. and she could feel her heart shattering in her chest with coming to the realiziation that she truly had lost her best friend.ย โs-sheโs notโฆ.sheโs notโฆ.โ and now mal had finally broken down in nothing but hot tears and sobs.
the first thing jay did was grab dougย by the shoulders, squeezing him a little too hard.ย โdonโt screw with me kid, iโll break you in two.โ jay didnโt mean to come off so aggressive, but he knew, that this wasnโt something anyone would lie about. and yet, he couldnโt bring himself to truly believe it. jay wasnโt sure it was possible to love anything, but he knew for a fact that he did love evie. and it was something he never go the chance to say to her, and now heโd never get that chance. and coming to the realization that heโd lost the only person he loved hit him hard. and instead of crying like a normal person should, jay wouldnโt. he wasnโt good at dealing with his emotions, especially something on this level. Instead he pushed the other to the ground roughly and went back to his dorm, and thatโs when all his grief turned into anger and began breaking and smashing everything he could get his hands on until his room looked like a tornado hit. and then once he was done, everything else finally hit him, and he broke down.ย
carlos didnโt have any friends before he met evie. she was truly the only friend she had, like a sister heโd never had. so when the news came to him, of course, he didnโt believe it. he couldnโt, no he didnโt want to.ย โs-stop saying that! sheโs not dead.โ he barely managed to choke down the words. he was already in tears despite his denial of the situation. as much as he didnโt want to come to term with this, deep down, he knew it was true. because this wasnโt something anyone would have the heart to lie about. but now now that he was actually coming to believe it, he could feel his knees buckle. and he was already on the floor on his knees. his own arms wrapped around himself as he couldnโt stop sobbing.ย โsheโs not dead, sheโs not dead, she canโt beโโ he sobbed to himself. he could feel the heaviness in his chest. heโs lost his best friend, his sister, and he just didnโt know how to handle the loss.
