Miranda has now lived four years longer than her mother Samira ever did, establishing herself as a successful and often recommended doctor in Edinburgh for women's health. Currently in a relationship with the Ukrainian-American cellist Iryna Kremensky, she has lately felt guilt over their twelve-year age difference, believing her partner would be better off with a younger partner who doesn't live on a different continent. Still, she hopes that Iryna obtaining a chair in a European orchestra will alleviate her guilt. Her other source of guilt lies in the secret parentage of Lady Shelley Walsh as she starts to question the Duke and Duchess' choice to keep her real parentage hidden forever.

Miranda Samira MacGregor turns 18 on the cusp of finishing school, ready to go out and leave Walshstone Park for university. Like her godfather the Duke of Feldsbury, she will be attending the University of Oxford, though instead of Exeter College, she will be going to the all-woman's St Hilda's College to study biology, intending to eventually go to medical school like her late father. While she is not ashamed of her sexuality, she prefers to keep quiet about it, especially since she's secretly in love with her best friend Amalia.

Turning 13 is a bittersweet thing for Miranda. She's grateful to be living with her godparents, allowing her to explore sexuality without malice, but it also marks another year without either of her parents. In September, she will start school at Bramblewood College, a private school two towns away, so she will not have to board.

As a ward of a duke and duchess, Miranda enjoys finely made clothes, even if they are simpler compared to the couple's children. (Let's be real even if Byron claims to not want the title, he definitely enjoys the benefits and can be subconsciously classist) Her style is more practical than anything, which makes it easier to have fun.

Miranda Samira MacGregor's sixth birthday also marks the sixth anniversary of her mother's death, but as the ward of the Duke and Duchess of Feldsbury, she's never had to deal with that kind of guilt. Miranda misses her father very much, though she is still too young to understand his death, but she finds comfort in her best friend, Lady Amalia. Like her late father, Miranda has started wearing glasses.
