There is something about this time of year - it’s a time of reflection and goal making. The last year of my life has felt like a whirlwind. 🌪 In the last 365 days, my gross revenues at @rinckerlaw have over doubled..and nearly tripled from where I was a few years ago. That alone is frankly unbelievable. Also, in the last year I was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers both in Metro #NYC + #IL all while being selected as the Alumnus of the Year at @lakelandcollegeil, launching an #aglaw podcast with @purdue_ag , + being an adjunct prof . 🎥 But other parts of my life have suffered. In the last year alone, I have gone through 2 #breakups (one with someone I thought I would one day marry) and gained back over 25 pounds that I worked so hard to lose. 💔🙄 I quit making myself a priority and gave up my #miraclemornings with #journaling, #reading, #meditation and #exercise to get another 60-90 minutes of work done for screaming clients at 6am when the world is quiet. 💻 Instead of my evening #swimming or #yoga, I opted for #wine while catching up with all my emails that I missed all day...🍷. I know several of you have jumped on the @msrachelhollis bandwagon - out of curiosity, I recently watched a few of her @youtube videos... one on journaling talked about how you can really go after one #goal passionately at once — I have been thinking about that statement a lot lately.. although I agree with that statement largely, it cannot be to the detriment of taking care of yourself. Ultimately, life is about balance. 📍I was recently reflecting when I #quitsmoking several years ago. I remember just making a decision that was going to work less and take care of my body more — I’d leave work at 5:30 to 6pm & head straight to the gym. It was one of the several life changes that I made to finally kick the bad habit. And the funny thing is, I actually made more money that year by working less and taking care of my body more. 📌 My point is this, I’m as driven as they come. My goals are huge. I don’t think small. But along the way we all cannot forget to nurture relationships that are important to us, spend time with family and God, and take care of yourself. #2019goals (at Amara Yoga & Arts) https://www.instagram.com/p/Br6pgVoFIIM/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1wwgaauwul1dg
