"General," Fives greeted, lazily, eyes still on the group of dancers.
"At ease, Fives." You said with equal vigor- he was already at ease. There was no need to give him the instruction, but you still said it from habit. "What's caught your eye over here?"
He tilted his head, the curls bouncing in the fire light. "The locals have a little dance night, it seems. Come out of house and home and just party." Fives grinned and glanced sideways at you, lips quirked, brows raised.
The locals had indeed emerged from their homes, and were dancing. Some nights they engaged in holovids, or poetry or storytelling. A smile pressed to your lips as you felt your toe bounce, and you hummed along to the tune. You knew it, from somewhere, and you whispered the words from the singer.
You didn't even realize that Fives was watching, a grin plastered above the perfectly groomed mustache. "You dance?"
The words and song stopped in your throat. "Oh. No, I don't. Jedi don't dance."
"I think I know one who does." Fives bit his lip in a laugh, the former grin only widening. "At least, now I do."
"I will demote you."
"You wish." Fives chuckled and reached out, grabbing your hand. "Come on."
Your heels dug into the ground, soft, curling around the brown leather. "Why?" Your voice was practically a squeak.
Fives only laughed, spinning you in his hands in the firelight, with the rousing cheers of villagers. "To dance," He whispered, as sparks flew from the bonfire nearby.
Part two of my exchange with @mintywriteswritings!!! I drew the art with Fives, and she wrote the story!!! ❤️ This was a lot of fun, and I'd love to do more of these in the future with other writers too!
