what are the rules of cliches and cheesiness in films and how does it affect the quality of a film?

look i love cheesiness when it is done right, give me all the cliches but make it interesting. you can be cute and unique ie. Love Simon or To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. its when they are boring and unnecessary they effect the quality of a film (ie. Edge of Seventeen) but there is definitely a place for them when they are done right

I got this ask a while ago and totally forgot to answer; my bad.

I think life is meaningful in the micro sense and meaningless in the macro sense. So, individually, life is meaningful because it’s your perspective and you’re living it. You have friends, pets, and family, and your own life, so of course it means something. On the macro sense though, our lives are just blips in cosmic time, and universally, anything that ever was or ever will be alive won’t change how the universe works that much. So it doesn’t mean anything.

It may be a cop out answer, but I do think it depends on your perspective.
