hi yeah micro identities that are under like, nonbinary or asexual or whatever all have their own flags. why is it entirely TERF propaganda that lesbians want a flag that wasn't designed as a shared symbol for the whole community. why is that "separating" us? and the "discourse" is primarily coming from non-lesbians who think they have input, a good amount of lesbians have picked a flag or two they seem to favor, while TERFs whine in a corner and keep using the pink one

Lesbians should still have their own flag, even as they are included in the rainbow flag. This is no different than, say, nonbinary people having their own flag, even as they are included under the trans flag.

However, you may notice that nonbinary people having their own flag has not led to a great movement of thousands of different nonbinary flags all vying for dominance and every queer creator who doesn’t include all of them being paraded in front of the court of public opinion as an inexcusable transphobe who must be destroyed.

The difference here is that there is no political movement which benefits from turning nonbinary people into a demographic that can be radicalized and mobilized.

This is an example of how propaganda works. It convinces people that damaging their own movements is somehow in their own best interests.

TERF propaganda convinces not only lesbians to forego their own best interests (building strong coalitions with other queer folx so as to better tackle hegemonic gender and sexual norms and ultimately achieve a truly accessible, equal society), but convinces trans people to forego their own best interests as well.

And the worst part of all, is that in so doing, everyone involved becomes convinces that they are actually moving their self interests forward rather than backward.

That’s the entire point of propaganda.
