In this AU, KG’s family is still wealthy, but not as stupid wealthy and as secluded from the rest of the world as her usual self. While still in school, she meets Dwyer, and they start a romance quickly, which ends in them running away together once they graduate. It starts out perfectly, but turns disastrous once Dwyer starts to find more fun in going out and being surrounded by other people, lots of whom show great interest in his eyes and general handsomeness, leaving intovert antisocial KG kind of in the dust and starved for attention. It culminates in Dwyer breaking up and KG subsequently doing her best to fight the way out of the black hole that threatens to swallow her by starting solo bass performances in open houses (mostly songs she writes as self-therapy).
