It was another normal day for the Mexican national team
Theyโre warm-ups were already marinated into the grass as their boots hit the grass and voices echoing across the pitch
Everyone had the same focus
Nothing else matter exactly nothing except winning
Everyone was locked inโฆexcept one person
He usually is always there head in the game but today he wasnโt fully there * he wouldย glancing down at the grass between drills and his jaw a bit tight*ย
Not in the drills like usual
Not in the moment like how he always is
His mind was somewhere else entirely which caught the eye of his teammatesย

Thatโs how long they had been together
But enough to mean something to both of them
Dating should be simple but not when one of them is part of a national team and the other is photographer
At first it started off fine
Then became distance soon after followed the routine of not really texting and became normal too both of them until it became silence between themย
-FLASHBACK โ MEDIA DAY-
Recently a new PR girl had joined the staff she was still learning, still adjusting to everythingย

She smiled I have to be this is for the team account
Someone off to the side was recording.

The PR girl adjusted the angle again *tilting her head focused on framingย the camera on him*
Mora sighed playfully โOne more Thatโs what they always sayโย
She laughed and began to reset the camera
Y/N saw it that night once she saw the video he stomach began to feel uneasy it could have been what she ate that morning but we know it wasnโt that
No warning and no text she just saw a video and thought long and hard how she gonna talk to Gilbertoย
they never fought nor had a disagreement before so yn thought about what to say without the situation escalating but when your upset and angry you gotta do what you gotta doย

Y/N:
โ you know u seem really jolly with her reallyyyyy nice of you to be with girls rn while Iโm here
Y/N:
โNgl if ur gonna do this fr and just ignoring me rn thatโs fine but Im not gonna sit here like a fool while my bf is with other girl
Mora stared at his phone between training obligationsย *sitting on bench his thumbs hovering over screen and brow slightly furrowedย thinking about what he could say*
he clearly felt yn anger thur those 3 text messages but clearly not nothing what to do in this situationย
Mora: nope thatโs sounds corny
He exhalesย *he began to run hand through hair muttering โno manchesโฆโ under his breathย clearly stressed*
At 3 minutes of overthinking and figuring it out on what to say he thoguht to him self this is a good text to sendโฆ
Mora: โyn Itโs just work I swear nothing else calm down
Mora: โI didnโt think it was that deepโฆ
But even he didnโt like how that sounded but he already hit send and no way of taking it back
-BACK TO PRESENT โ TRAINING-
โGilberto!โย *coach voice is sharperย atp*
โGilberto!โย *slightly louder and frustrated*
โMora out go cool offโ
Mora blinkedย *snaps back slightly nodding once*
-HALLWAY โ WALKING TO ELEVATOR-
He wasnโt thinking clearlyย *his hands were in his pockets, shoulders a bit tense jaw clenched*
He was just tired and just stuck in his headย
โHeyโ she said โYou looked off today you okay?โย *soft tone head tilted slightlyย at him*
Mora nodded โJustโฆ tiredโ
โYeah, I get that media days are worse than games sometimesโ
โIโll give you that oneย *a small exhale through his nosegiving him some sort of ease*
Soon they began to walked together nothing weird between them just happened to be heading the same directionย
PR GIRL: โWhat floor?โ
PR GIRL: โFive for meโ
Clearly everything was fine all good
But time just had to be on the opposite side that mora was on today so once the elevator hit floor 2โฆ
Y/N is thereย *standing still for a half second eyes locking immediately on Mora*
Mora straightens instantlyย *shoulders up, immediate alertas well looked quickly at the PR girl then yn
But sheโs already looking at him then at the PR girl then back at him
Yn: ummโฆIโll just take the stairs insteadย *she barely moves her gaze already stepping back slightlyย making her way to the stairs*
PR GIRL: โOhโ hi youโre Y/N right? Iโve seen your work itโs really goodโโ
Y/N doesnโt answer not to her ESPECIALLY not her
Her eyes stay on Moraย *her jaw was tight and she began to look aways and breath slowly while still looking at both of them *
Until mora put his hand between the doors to keep them openย *metal pressing lightly against his palmย and looking at the 30 second countdown screen of the elevator and then looking back at yn*
Mora: your coming in or not yn?
Y/N *quiet*: โItโs fine I will take the stairs instead
She wasnโt angry to the point u can see it in here face but mora could feel it
But not loud enough to make a scene but clearly mora could tell she was dead serious about it
She was just done and mora had to respect that so as the the countdown was down to 5 seconds left he put his hand back to his side and the Doors shutย
-ELEVATOR โ AFTER SHE LEAVES-
Silence was heavy and you probably cut the tension in half in that elevatorย
Mora rubs his faceย *eyes shut for a second clearly trying to keep it together*
PR GIRL: โUhโฆ everything okay is she always like that
Mora doesnโt answer right away.
MORA: โYeah justโฆ long day and to answer your question no she not she just being stubborn thatโs all
But his voice doesnโt match it
-FLOOR 5 โ PR GIRL EXITS-
PR GIRL: well Iโll see you around moraย *and as she walked out she did a small wave at him with a small smile showed on her*
MORA: โYeah see yaย *slight nodย trying to act nonchalant*
Doors close again and now itโs just him and the awkward situation he put himself inย
He exhales the moment she leftย
โโฆthat wasnโt goodโย * he said almost guilty*
mora: Ella me va a chingarโฆย he said as as kick the wall of the elevator
just the thoguht of you being mad at him made him feel like shit and made him feel sick to his stomachย
And freezes Y/N is still there waiting for him arm cross and everything plus clearly she did not take the stair
MORA: โyn youโre not even gonna talk to me?โ
Y/N: โWhatโs there to talk about clearly you got other girls to talk to
MORA: โIt wasnโt like that y tu sabes ynย
Y/N: โIt always โisnโt like thatโ until I see it por mis propios ojosย

Mora pauses at what she said she used his first name not even a Bebe or mi amor nothingย
then he snapped out of it seeing yn was waiting for a answerย

Mora: think about it yn thatโs not that point the point is thatโs she just works here and nothing else yn
Y/N: โThatโs the point Mora I always find out after and it donโt matter who it is fr it just it feels Iโm losing you and your no longer there
MORA: โI didnโt text because I didnโt know how nor u need to feel that way Iโm still gonna be here no matter what
Y/N: โThatโs not an excuse and still clearly I ion see it one bit
MORA: โI know.โย *He went looking down briefly*
Y/N (quieter):
โI saw it and I justโฆ felt like I wasnโt even in your life anymoreโ
Moraโs expression drops immediatelyย *his eyes dropped down to the floor hoping the floor would have a answer to help him *
MORA: โThatโs not trueโ
Y/N: โ it feel like it tho
Mora steps closer and slowly not knowing what could happen next
MORA: โIโm not good at this I donโt know how to balance everything yet Iโm sorry if I made you feel hurt in any way
Y/N: โIโm not asking you to be perfect Gilberto
MORA: โI just didnโt realize I was making you feel like thatโ
She looks away trying to keep it together
Y/N: โI donโt like feeling replaceable moraโ
Instant reaction came from him and without thinking
MORA: โYouโre not and took her hand and began to place small pecks on her knuckles
[ELEVATOR DING โ FLOOR 7]
someone random gets off the elevator ruining there moment
leaving both of them awkwardly standing there while the worker looks at them and walk away
Y/N: that was awkwardโฆ she said as she lets goes of his grip and looks away
Mora hesitates and decides to take the opportunity he has right now and so
MORA: โJustโฆ donโt go back to whatever you were gonna doโ
She narrows her eyes slightly
Y/N: โThatโs your solution?โ
MORA: โIโll get you food after and Iโll buy u whatever you wantโฆmi amorย (soft blush began to show on his face*
*a small heat came from her face itโs been while since he called her that bringing her to a slight shock but still trying to be nonchalant*
Y/N: thatโs the best u got mora
MORA: โItโs a good planโ
And off mora goes dragging her outside the training placeย *he light pulls her hand and she resists slightly protesting slightly but follows anyway*
Yn: they gonna get me in trouble if Iโm not there in 5 minutes moraย *meanwhile mora is trying to pull her hand back but not really trying that hard*
Mora looked over at her with a small grin tugging at the corner of his mouth, still walking like he already knew she wasnโt actually leaving
Mora: trouble?ย que exageradaย youโll survive five minutes
Yn: Gilberto Iโm being serious
Mora: and Iโm being serious too
He glanced down at her for a second before looking ahead again
Mora: you really thought I wanted her?
Yn rolled her eyes immediately
Yn: donโt start I donโt wanna argue anymore
He slowed down a little finally turning toward her
Her eyes slowly lifted to him
Mora: out of all the people around meโฆ cameras, games, interviews, all that stuffโฆ
Mora: I still look for you first
For a second she just stared at his and she hated it because she knew she was week in the kneels for him
Because she could literally feel herself folding.
Yn: okay donโt get all smooth now
Mora:ย * now smiling a little bigger now*smooth? I wasnโt trying to be smooth
Mora: no I wasnโtย mamรก te lo juro
Yn: did you just โmamรก te lo juroโ me?
Yn:ย ni inventesย you feel hella bold today or what
She tried walking ahead of him but he caught up immediately
Mora:ย oye youโre still mad?
Yn stayed quiet for a second
Mora gasped dramatically putting his hand over his chest like his heart shattered
Mora:ย ahh mira weโre making progress
Yn looked away trying to hide the smile creeping onto her face
Yn: donโt get too happy
Mora looked at her for a second like really looked at her
Mora: I donโt like when youโre mad at me
His voice got quieter a lot less teasing and more honest mora
The little smile on her face faded.
Yn: you scared me you know that?
He looked down, rubbing the back of his neck
Mora:ย lo sientoโฆ de verdad
Then she bumped her shoulder into his lightly.
Yn:ย รกndale buy me food and maybe Iโll forgive you fully
Mora: see? I knew food would save my relationship
Mora: wow okay so now youโre taking advantage of me
Yn:ย pues sรญย and youโre paying too
Mora: ahh pues no sabรญa he said in a sarcastic tone
Mora looked at her for a second before smiling.
Mora:ย mi niรฑa enojonaย came back
Yn immediately shoved his shoulder
Yn: boy shut up before I change my mind and tell don memo on you
Mora just laughed and wrapped an arm around her shoulders as they kept walking
