The commercial district was alive with activity as the two elementals walked through it's busy streets. Businesses large and small lined their path on all sides, neon signs casting a pale glow on the ground around them. Crowds of monsters huddled around shopfronts, talking and laughing. Food carts loudly announced the flavors of their wares and how good they were as handfuls of skeptical individuals eyed them cautiously, while more adventurous types, conversely, bought up the foodstuffs without second thought.Â
Teenagers loafed about by alleyways, and greeters stood near the front entrances of department stores. Sign-spinners danced about wth varying levels of enthusiasm, and musicians played their instruments with cases laid beside them in hopes of tips. Though neither member of the couple was aware of it, the scene wasn't entirely unlike one of the surface's more crowded cities.

Even amidst all this sound and fury, a gentle happiness sprang eternal from Cane's SOUL. With Minera by his side, her arm wrapped around his own, the whole situation felt slightly dream-like; he still couldn't quite believe his luck. In his timeline (And from what the lightning elemental had said herself, hers too) elementals were something of a rarity. Even in a scene this crowded, you might spot one or two at best. And yet, purely by chance, he and Minera had found one another.Â
Still, he couldn't let himself get too distracted: they were there to shop after all. Turning his head slightly, he spoke, having to raise his voice slightly over the crowd.
"We're almost there!" He said.
