Oooo 12 15 and 30 from the ask meme c:
12) Name of your favorite playlist? Hmm, either Vespers, Falling, One By One, or How The Light Gets In.
15) Favorite book you read as a school assignment? This one has a story behind it. So in my freshman high school biology class, there was a lab project that horrified me and I refused to do it. It caused A Problem with the teacher, but my mom actually had my back, and so the teacher said, with malevolent glee, “Fine, read a piece of current scholarship relevant to the subject we’ve been working on and write me a 20 page paper.” He did not expect me to be DELIGHTED with this solution. The lab had to do with bird development, so I read The Dinosaur Heresies by Robert Bakker and wrote 20+ pages on the (at the time) controversial idea that dinosaurs evolved into birds. I loved that book dearly, and I doubt any teacher ever hated giving me an A so much. Later, I attended one of Bakker’s lectures, told him the story, and he laughed his head off while signing my book.
30) Places you find sacred? Damn near anywhere can be sacred if you look at it right. I tend to get that vibe more in liminal spaces, or near things that are just out of place. Buildings that were once bustling with traffic but are now empty, places you’re not supposed to be. Patches where the light falls just so and illuminates a part of your world in a way you’d never seen it before. The weird and unexpected.
