I truly regret that it hasn't felt as though we've had much to say to each other lately. So first off I want to say that I hope that can change back and I'm sorry I haven't been the most proactive in seeing to that lately.

But more importantly!! You're a very dear friend to me regardless of that and it continues to be so wonderful to get to see you be more openly silly and expressive, because I know how hard that can be.

Oh boy, welp here goes:

12 Year old me:

Dear mom,

No there isn't anything wrong with me, just because I like something different than the other kids doesn't mean I'm some weird freak. Maybe if you actually tried to understand why I like these things then you'd be more like dad. He understands, and he doesn't judge me or make fun of me for it. Cassie likes these things too, so why is it that you're only judging me?

Oh you and you wonder why I'm so quiet and why I spend so much time in my room? Because you never bothered to ask what kind of hell I went through in Elementary school to cause me to close up so much. At least now I have Jaime and Ashley to help me out, but no. You probably will never understand. Because, hey, who wants to bother to get to know their freak of a child.

Why can't you just get off your high horse and actually bother to understand me? Meemaw even understands, yet you can't get over that I like something so weird and different.

Well sorry that isn't going to change anytime soon.
