Wine Glass & Bottle-O-Joy! by Rik Ruff Via Flickr: It was Karl Taylor's video (www.karltaylorphotography.com) that inspired me to make an attempt at duplicating his shot. I spent about 30-minutes gathering the props--wine & bottle was easy, finding faux wood shelves which was taped together to look like a table, adding my own hand-painted backdrop (2-blind shades also taped together), then using my speed lights, scrims, and a flashlight to illuminate the label. Now that the temps have been warming up, the house was also doing the same. It was 81-degrees when I finally had everything setup and snapping shots. We refuse to turn on the A/C this soon so I did what I could (for an hour!) before I was happy with the shot :P I don't' recall doing much editing…well, maybe some spot healing here and there, but I did finish the job by adding a little vignette. The best part of all of this…drinking my favorite subject before heading off to bed!
