I'm almost all packed for vacation!!! I have a couple of light jackets to throw into the car and to gas it up tomorrow. Then I have to wrangle elementary school cheerleaders for the first half of the game tomorrow night... then THE HOT SPRINGS!!! I'm craving it!!!
Stockholm, just two days before I lost my mum
August 21, 2018: I needed to get out of town. I know that sounds rich coming from someone living in London this year, but it's how I felt. I
Super enjoying this surprise mini-break between jobs. Normally something like this might really freak me out but it's less than a week all told, and I think I really needed this breather. I'm finally catching up on some chores, and tomorrow I'm going to try making individual hand-pie versions of my very good chicken pot pie recipe!

Our Events Manager Pamela Tschersich wrote the following report about the recent TFR-trip to stunning Cappadocia in Central Anatolia:
āLeaving Ercan at daybreak on Tuesday 8th October, 38 members enjoyed a short trip to Cappadocia. Our guide Oktay met us at Keyseri airport along with Mustafa, our very competent coach driverā¦
Between them they showed us the highlights of Cappadociaā¦. not every member could venture into the famous Katmakli Underground City as bending low is required in several parts ā¦everyone was amazed that people actually lived in these caves hiding from their enemiesā¦.they were obviously a lot shorter than people of today !!!
We visited the famous pottery and Galip enjoying a demonstration of their craft. We went on to visit a manufacturer of beautiful handcrafted rugs and carpets demonstrating the Turkish system of carpet makingā¦showing us the difference in knots which helped you understand why some carpets are so much more expensive when looking the sameā¦some members joined the coach happy but poorer for the visit!!
Going up in the balloon or just taking part on the balloon chase was the highlight for most membersā¦a unique experience.
We arrived back at Ercan on Saturday 12th October,Ā all having enjoyed their mini-breakā¦good weather and as usual a fun crowd.ā

What I Look For In A Travel Destination
After a few months without much travel (apart from a trip home to London for Christmas and a couple of day trips in Switzerland) Iām starting to get itchy feet again, and as a result, Iāve started planning some trips to take in the summer. The planning process has led me to think about what I personally look for in a travel destination, and what makes me choose one place over another: It has toā¦

A Trip to...Geneva
A Trip toā¦Geneva
Back in July I did a mini-trip to Geneva, spending just one night there. I travelled solo, since my boyfriend was in Florida [I was in my second week of a new job and didnāt think it would make a good impression if I just took off for a longer holiday]. Whilst Zurich is still my favourite Swiss city, Iām glad I saw this charming, bustling place ā I left feeling relaxed and refreshed by my timeā¦
