The thing that some people don't understand is that a person's taste in fictional characters doesn't always reflect their actual taste in people. I have a friend that pretty exclusively crushes on bag of garbage characters, but their partner is the human equivalent of what people feel when they watch a baby animal fall asleep. Most people have higher real life standards than fictional husband/wife standards. -J

I cope with fiction. Fiction is a safe place for me to deal with a lot of complex feelings, messy feelings, sometimes very ugly feelings. Fiction is where I repair damage from past relationships. I could write a damn’ thesis on exactly where and how and why and when I relate to all of my problematic faves. It’s not a foundation for forming connections, it’s a sandbox for playing in.
I am maaaarrying sorry that always makes my voice go funny the sweetest, kindest, most loving person I have ever met, who I have a fully open communication stream with, who wouldn’t hurt a fly, and who is really only comparable to trash husbands in that they are also physically attractive and extremely smart, except 1000000000000000000x as much.
And I guess a shared appreciation for diamond ponies but really that’s not a character flaw
basically YES THIS ALL THIS THANK YOU
