Grian. He joined HermitCraft (HC) in season six after the conclusion of his story on EVOlution (EVO). EVO was his original Minecraft (mc) world that Grian created with the premise of traveling through the mc updates slowly, starting from as early as they could while still being able to play multiplayer. After a while a group of "deities" (gods? Viewers technically if you really think about it) called the Watchers started to leave puzzles and hints on how to progress to the next update. They took over the update portals from Grian. If you did something they didn't approve of there would be a consequence. (EX: Grian blew up a statue of the watchers and/or stole some clay from one, so they covered all his chests with obsidian. A much worse punishment back in the early stages of mc updates.) skipping ahead, in Grians final EVO episode the group is going to fight the enderdragon for the first time as it was implemented into the game. The watchers have a strong influence at this point and the stronghold had been built following their theme. When everyone jumped in it separated (at least Grian was idk about everyone else) the group. Grian fought the dragon on his own and won, thus in lore leading to the watchers recruiting Grian into their ranks, and ending with him leaving EVO. (In fannon this event can be seen as either the watchers kidnapping him or him going willingly but I mostly see it being angsty) (the reason earlier I said the watchers are the viewers is because the reason Grian was becoming a watcher was because he was going to become a viewer of EVO after he left. So basically all viewers are watchers and we took this information and ran with it making a lot of stuff community headcannons. Such as the wings! The watchers statues had wings so they are seen as a big part of watcher lore. Same with the end and the void tipically always being their home.)
once Grian joined HC the wing headcannon stayed due to his proficiency with an elytra. The parrot wings came from his season 6 (S6) base having an aviary full of parrots at the top. There was a distinct lack of watcher lore for a long time after this. But we knew from experience that Grian liked to give small potential references to his old lore. As in S7 he makes a comment about not liking being in a blue jumper instead of his iconic red. This is POTENTIALLY (mostly headcannoned) as being a reference to his yandre highschool/ Tokyo soul days. He also lived in a jungle with once again strengthens the parrot headcannons. Tho during S6 it wasn't uncommon to see him being a cod sometimes due to him living in an ocean and his mc skin looking like a cod face. S6 also saw the birth of Ariana Griande, his unofficial drag persona, and S7 saw the creation of MotherSpore during the turf war. (He starts a lot of wars and rebellions. It's like his whole thing.) (s7 also was the season the life series began, life series and lore whore martyn (a member of EVO) began the revitalization of watcher lore) S8 was a transitional season while they waited for an update and saw the continuation of the watcher lore within the fandom due to the Moon Big situation. S9 had the /massive portal/ under his base and a scene in whitch he falls into the cave and lives on like half a heart or smt, quote " I didn't, die." MANY A GOOD EDIT OF THIS WITH THE WATCHERS!!! Very scrumptious. Also it's a portal that takes people to another mc world (empiressmp. Which is filled with old EVO members) so like more watcher lore there. Secret life saw the SECRET KEEPER who LITERALLY HAS THE WATCHERS SYMBOL ON ITS FACE, GRIAN HOW DARE YOU. S10 didn't have much but it did include fisherman Grian desperately trying to get a mending book (return of cod Grian). And now S11 he's water droplet torturing us with that DAMN observatory/telescope and its watcher connections.
I know I focused on watchers but that's where most of my info comes from. I could say so much more about the life series but I didn't want to make this explanation MASSIVE. Sry it took me so long btw, I got busy. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask them!!
