The brainworms got me and I opened Minecraft for a first time in 8 months. To relax and have wholesome fun, as you do in this game yanno?
I go to the isolated little jungle island were I had the new, warm biome chicken waiting in a boat for me, to transport to main base. It was still waiting there. So I ran to it, excited. And to my terror, a cat jumped in the boat and murdered the chicken right in front of my eyes.
First of, the scene was so familiar to a real life problem of feral cats killing off native birds, I got genuinely upset. It's a huge ecological problem and I care bout that stuff a lot ;w; Secondly, I keep chickens irl and that new mob variant in mc looks just like one of my boys. I was so excited to tame it T-T BUT THAT'S NOT THE END
I run around and YES I see the last survivors! It was a mama hen with a baby!!! Perfect ^0^!
ANOTHER FUCKING CAT kills the hen, then one-shots the baby chick before I have a chance to react... I stand in shock. Then I remember something. There's a ruined portal on the island, with 3 pieces of flint and steel in a chest...
I spend next 2 hours setting the entire island on fire. Practicing axe crits on the ocelots on a side. When I run out of steel to make flints, I go to the Nether for lava and light fire with a lava buckets.
TL;DR: Minecraft is a wonderful game where you can cause deforestation and set kittens on fire as a revenge for all the birds they've killed. 10/10 experience. Bless <3
