Sorry for continuing bombarding you with questions but I'm sure the public would want to know: What is your headcannon about Blazes and if they can touch/shake hands/hug other mobs with/without burning them?
Mod: Oh boy this is gonna get into the mechanics of my Blazes and how they work! Buckle up because I'm going to throw a lot of headcanons your way. Casual reminder these are MY PERSONAL HEADCANONS and are not to be taken as fact. This is just my interpretation cx
In order to explain how they can interact with non-Blazes without damaging them, I need to get into the specifics of how my Blazes are built physically, and my fanmade Blaze subspecies. Here's a reference I put together to explain:
(Click the image to zoom in)
Blazes are highly energetic beings and can control the heat and smoke produced by their bodies at will through the use of a central core. Because their bodies are comprised of liquid lava activated by an energy lattice from said core, they can manipulate the lava to form limbs and lower or raise their temperature as needed. When angry, they raise their ambient temperature to light themselves on fire as a defense mechanism and lob superheated magma at attackers. When nonhostile, Blazes can lower the levels of heat emanating from their body and limbs, to around room temperature (which for the Nether is pretty hot, but bearable).
The core is the ultimate weakpoint. Not only is it responsible for the actual movement and life force of the Blaze, but it's also more fragile than the ferrofluid consistency of the activated lava limbs, which weapons can separate but rarely damage. The core is un-collectible as a mob drop - the energy lattice inside becomes unstable and causes the core to crack apart once the Blaze dies.
In Standard Blazes, the core is made from crystalline sulfur and magma, which can only occur when Lava comes into contact with the minerals in Netherrack and charcoal. Since these components come together with the highest frequency at Nether Fortresses (made from Nether Brick, flame-cooked Netherrack), this is why Blazes are encountered the most within the dark brick corridors rather than naturally at the beaches of the lava ocean. Once the core has been formed, the rest of the body forms around it, starting with the head. Blazes don't have organs of any kind, and it's a subject of debate if the mind of the Blaze resides in the core or in the head, as with humanoids. The body can form up to 8 limbs (6 'arms' and 2 'legs').
As you might have noticed, I included a color scale in the image- that's because NOW we get into Blaze subspecies! :D (Gonna put this under the Readmore so my fan-canons don't clog the dash lmao)
Blazes are a**holes.
That is all.
