Truth serum (mindwalker-elsbeth): When did you first know you weren't straight? No pressure though
@mindwalker-elsbeth
"I um, well... had, had an inkling since, since I was young... I uh, I just wasn't interested in, in girls..." Russell said, "Of course, my, my mom being the way she, she was, really didn't want anyone thinking that being anything other than, than straight was, was a thing..."
He shrugged a bit.
"I, I uh, I kinda like, um, realised, when I was uh, like, thirteen or uh, or fourteen," Russell said, "But I uh, I was in denial for, for a while and then I like, came to accept it when I was, was sixteen or, or so... knew I had to, to be quiet about though. I, I wasn't safe until I, I was far away from, from, from Boston, from, from her..."
It definitely made it a lot easier when she did end up finding out. As painful as it had been at the time, being screamed at over the phone was a lot better than any alternatives she could have done if she had been there in person.
"I've, I've met a, a lot of accepting people now, like, like you, and, and my other friends," Russell said, "And, and it's pretty welcoming here... but uh, I still like, take it cautious with, with strangers."
But then he fidgeted, which might have been heard over discord.
"S-sorry, that, that was probably a downer... did you, did you want to do another puzzle or uh, or uh play something else maybe?"
