part 2 of 3...Love what you are doing and the money will come. BUT you have to educate yourself first. A lot of my self-employed clients and artists...they are not educating themselves on the thing/industry/career that they say they "love." I hear it all the time..."Music is my love..this is what I love doing.." However, they can't tell me simple things that affect their cash flow. Things like what are mechanical royalties, the many ways one receives compensation from a song being sold. Or deals you can receive outside of just a "record" deal.
