Q U I E T L Y–– Hermione sat in her chair, close to the fireplace. It was probably close to about two in the morning, but she didn’t want to go back to sleep. SCREAMS AND LAUGHTER filled her dreams of the wild-eyed woman who carved that scar onto her arm. For a while, that was all she dreamt about. She spent so many nights, trying to stay awake but it was to no avail. Months passing, the dreams were less frequent; but when she did have them, they were so incredibly vivid.
So that is what brought her to this; sitting cozily in the Head Boy and Girl’s shared common room with a mug of hot chocolate { brought by the Heads’ shared house elf, who she thanked kindly and offered a snack in return }, and a copy of Pride and Prejudice sitting in her lap as she read. She almost did not even hear the footsteps of the other Head treading down the stairs.
Hermione looked up for a moment to see Draco make his way down the stairs. Their eyes met for a moment with a slight nod, understanding the inability they both have of sleeping. It was one common thing they shared. During they days there would me arguments, tension, and rarely a thing they could agree on during their meetings with the Prefects. But around this time some nights, one would find the other awake sitting in their shared common room, unable/not wanting wanting to sleep evident. Words were rarely spoken at this time, never asking the other why, but curiosity still lingered when she saw him. What was so bad that it was actually keeping Draco Malfoy up at night?
